And it still don't mean a thing! My love, My Love, Tell me what does it take to win your love! Just ain't good enough...... Love me some Johnnie! After listening to this jam, I need a drink!!!!
This is one of my all time favs as well. It's one of the last albums made w/ real musicians, strings, the whole treatment before synths totally took over...2 bad Beverly Glen didn't pay their artists (Bobby w., Anita B.) maybe they cudda helped real soul music stay alive
Sssssh, Master at work! Totally AWESOME!!! Still is, And just gets better with time! Johnnie and Patrick, made in heaven and now there tearing them chord changes up! Spellbinding SOUL!!!
The funk soul brother, thank you for this post, I am a real music lover to include world music. Thanks again from Mississippi. What live videos have U.
I had this album on vinyl just as you have it displayed here.... moved several times and lost it in the process. Had to buy it again on CD. Its a bit odd that most his core fans have no idea that Johnnie Taylor in addition to his blues roots, recorded some disco, gospel, pop and classics. This Album was a departure from his traditional stuff and many panned it at the time. Check out The Johnnie Taylor Philosophy- Johnnie sings standards like Who can I turn to and The Games That People Play.
You have to remember that different things move people. We all don't respond to the same thing alike. If we all saw an accident, each one of us would have a different account of what we saw.
This is my all time favourite so much soul in this track one almost wishes that you had just finished with a partner.Just to appreciate it more I just love it.
