They're really only similar in that they're both action games. Ninja Gaiden is way faster and far more skill-based than Devil May Cry. Ninja Gaiden's techniques require more precision and more finely-tuned reflexes.

who cares about punch? it was simply fun to use and if you could stay alive long enough to kill people with it then it works for me. i would agree that using a different weapon would be more efficient but i still think that the lunar was one of the most enjoyable weapons to use.

No one cares?! Well that can't be true considering the DMC has been up longer than Ninja GAYden and it has a larger fanbase. ^.^ Ninja GAYden is a rip-off of DMC and deep down....You know it, pal.
Ninja Gaiden was originally for the NES, it was the same thing. Demons this demons that. So yea...its was long before DMC's time.
More so Devil May Cry was originally to be part of Resident Evil however last minute they changed story and stuff. (This kinda fits into this in the sense of hey another demon game).
Well, the gameplay that DMC originated (the hack 'n slash demons gameplay) was originally DMC's. Ninja Gaiden didn't come out on the Xbox until much later. I'm not saying Ninja GAYden wasn't created first, but the gameplay of DMC was made before Ninja GAYden even hit the Xbox, so study up before you try and trump me.
Lol Venom. Ninja Gaiden is much older than DMC, and it uses a modified version of the DOA fighting engine (which came out WAY before DMC)It is not ripping off of DMC.
Both games have completely different gameplay. DMC is all about being flashy and doing stylish combos. In Ninja Gaiden, it's all about timing your attacks, countering, knowing which move to use when. You barely get rewarded for combos.

NG (xbox) is older than DMC, why? Because Tecmo was working on the game in 1999, they want to put it in sega dreamcast (Like DOA 2) But they have a lot of problems with some kind of bosses (Alma) and then they released it to 2004 in Xbox, because Dreamcast was dead in that time.
I'm really looking forward to this game. I enjoyed the first one (although parts of it could be really difficult) and I know I'll enjoy this one even more but it'll still be a while before I can round up the money for an Xbox 360.
Ninja Gaiden was probably the most frustrating game for me when I was playing it but when I finally beat it I was so happy. After you beat the bosses in the game it makes you feel like you accomplished something. Thats why I think Ninja Gaiden is so good.

nice. this game is going to be epic. i read some other comments talking about dmc and i have to say that #4 has been awesome. it's past my understanding why people seem to like one or the other though.

No one cares?! Well that can't be true considering the DMC has been up longer than Ninja GAYden and it has a larger fanbase. ^.^ Ninja GAYden is a rip-off of DMC and deep down....You know it, pal.

Sadly you are mistaken...
Ninja Gaiden was originally for the NES, it was the same thing. Demons this demons that. So yea...its was long before DMC's time.
More so Devil May Cry was originally to be part of Resident Evil however last minute they changed story and stuff. (This kinda fits into this in the sense of hey another demon game).
I say this, no one ripped off anyone. So yea..

Well, the gameplay that DMC originated (the hack 'n slash demons gameplay) was originally DMC's. Ninja Gaiden didn't come out on the Xbox until much later. I'm not saying Ninja GAYden wasn't created first, but the gameplay of DMC was made before Ninja GAYden even hit the Xbox, so study up before you try and trump me.

Lol Venom. Ninja Gaiden is much older than DMC, and it uses a modified version of the DOA fighting engine (which came out WAY before DMC)It is not ripping off of DMC.
Both games have completely different gameplay. DMC is all about being flashy and doing stylish combos. In Ninja Gaiden, it's all about timing your attacks, countering, knowing which move to use when. You barely get rewarded for combos.

So what you're saying is that the Ninja Gaiden game that released for the Xbox years ago came out before DMC?....Think about it. And I still remain un-trumped since I made no mistake in "owning myself with fail and stupid". Because guess what....DMC circa 2001, Ninja Gaiden circa 2004...I'm not talking about the NES I'm talking about last gen consoles. DMC IS OLDER THAN NINJA GAIDEN, LAST GEN WISE.

NG (xbox) is older than DMC, why? Because Tecmo was working on the game in 1999, they want to put it in sega dreamcast (Like DOA 2) But they have a lot of problems with some kind of bosses (Alma) and then they released it to 2004 in Xbox, because Dreamcast was dead in that time.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I enjoyed the first one (although parts of it could be really difficult) and I know I'll enjoy this one even more but it'll still be a while before I can round up the money for an Xbox 360.

Ninja Gaiden was probably the most frustrating game for me when I was playing it but when I finally beat it I was so happy. After you beat the bosses in the game it makes you feel like you accomplished something. Thats why I think Ninja Gaiden is so good.
