  • what year was this

  • rene clausen wrote this in late 20th century in the anglican church. if you knew any history about this, you would know that the church had a specific bright tone and very bright tone. the director most likely wanted it to sound as close to the original as possible. and if you would have heard my high school choir, you most likely would realize that these guys are not bad at all. IMHO i believe the guys have a very mature sound.

i respect your opinion and i hope you respect mine.

    peace

  • Remember not to spread your vowels. This performance is far too bright. Keep you jaws apart while humming. This will stop you from sounding so young. I would speed up the tempo slightly as well to give it a more bouncy feel, but that's just my opinion. Check out Valparaiso Concert Choir for a good example.

  • not bad. my choir is singing this song for contest and its a pain but fun. poing of advise watch the "le" in alleluia. pronownce it as "leh" not "lay". other than that very nice

    : )

  • actually being a performer and sang this with four other choirs. I hear the leh

  • i love singing this song nicely done by the way best ive heard

  • this is the first recordeing with dynamics

  • The soloist was good but a bit too bright and could have sung it closer to a bel canto style with longer vowels but overall bravo(a)

  • agreed

  • I feel it's a bit too legato...

It could use better consonances and with the "Alelujah"s, because you connect the "jah" part seamlessly, it easily slurs into a "uh" sound.

The soloist has a great range, but her articulation could have been cleaned up a bit more to make it flawless. =D

Other than that, it was pretty good.

  • we are singing this tomorrow for a concert. i thought you did it very well

  • my choir performed this last night, without guys, and no offense, but ours was better, so was our soloist, whose like my bff

  • im singing this for all-state, and u guys were so beautiful, that now im hella excited!!!!!!!

p.s. - i wanna noe how u felt about the pentatonic soprano section before the end!

  • Oh, did I hear the words "All-state"?

This song is so much fun! Especially that section that you are refering to. It sounds amazing.....I love it. Its like a thousand voices calling out to the heavens. And it makes this crazy overtone. So amazing!!

  • We're doing this song in choir too :D

Just be sure to work on your vowel placement...you guys have a really bright, immature sound.

  • u guys actually sound pretty good, but the thing that is keeping u guys from sounding great is ur vowels. ur vowels r soooo wide u guys sound so immature. ur soloist is really fantastic though.

  • We souded soo good in this song too!
