  • Don't add the wine - tastes almost as good.

  • If you put 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning 1 celery heart and 1.25 bay leaves per pound of meat in your recipe it will be better. You should simmer the sauce for at least 6 hrs, adding water as needed every 1/2 hour -stir well. I think your recipe sounds good but this will improve it greatly. My mom learned how to make a great 8-hr sauce in 1951 from an Italian lady when she was 21 years old. What I am telling you is based on that recipe. You seem to really enjoy cooking so please try it.

  • I used Burgundy wine to make my sauce and made meatballs with beef pork and veal and man was it great!

  • @padude64 I like eating animals that have been not allowed to walk or really even move for that matter. Veal is good

  • Its an art to make that sauce , I have been cooking sauce since 14years of age , I am 25 now and I have not perfected it , I have messed it up and its never the same.

  • Try the recipe - you'll find that the roasted garlic sauce is a good base for a better spaghetti! And the wine doesn't hurt ;-)

  • WOW,I remembered back in the day when some of the elder's at the italian cafe used to call me to a back room where they would be playing cards, smoking cigar's and drinking brandy. Big paulie was the cook and yes he weight in at around 295pounds.But man could this guy cook his butt off. HE NEW HOW TO MAKE LOVE TO HIS FOOD, In fact he would sing to it everyday and the food would just love him back.I was his understudy. Ruusvuu your style reminds me of the good old days keep up the good work.
