  • Thanks for the lesson...however, being American, my English is a bit "colonial," so I did have some trouble understanding the 'Queen's English."

  • do I need a k-bow to play this?

  • hey dude, it's called a 'capo' and you should get one, although you don't necessarily need it for this. it changes the pitch of a song to better suit your singing range. please note that i use the word 'pitch' with absolutely no authority. good lesson!

We're going to add that song to our setlist.

According to your profile, it looks like you're a Glaswegian displaced in Ilkley, Yorks.

I'm a Bradfordian displaced in California.

  • Thanks for posting this lesson. I'm having so much fun playing along with you! Have you seen the documentary "Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten"? It just opened here in NYC; excellent film!!

  • Ive seen it its incredible and very interesting Mick jones is the coolest

    I LOVED IT

  • cool, i haven't seen it, is it about guitar?

  • It's a documentary about Joe Strummer from The Clash. The film footage chronicles Joe's life from his boarding school days, through his time with The Clash and up to his last, more mature band, The Mescaleros. It's an interesting and captivating documentary if you're a music buff in general and a definite "must see" if you're a Clash fan. Merry Christmas!!

  • Thank you very much for posting this. There is not much help out there "helpless" players like myself, and you have made this song very accessible. Thank you very much. I hope you will post more lessons when you have a chance.

    Again thank you very much.

BTW, I have watched your other "performance" viddies, and have enjoyed them very much. Look forward to more. Thank you again.

  • Becuase that is a scottish accent Mike Meyers is using.

  • nice acoustic version i enjoyed playing along. have tried with a D7 chord at the end of line "i guess my race is run"

  • That was great! Can you do a lesson on something by Buddy Holly? Like Peggy Sue or Not Fade Away? They both have pretty cool strumming and some cool quick chord changes. Thanks!

  • Hi! Thanks for this great lesson! I`ve just wondering :) Regarding to your accsent I guesss you may know some Pogues songs :) Could you teach us? That would be a blast!

  • Mate, he's got a Scottish accent, the Pogues are Irish. Great request though.

  • Yes, I know the Phougues are Irish ;)He told me he was Scottish later.. I`m not so good in hearing the difference between the two acsents ;)

  • ...Pogues... and the list of bloopers goes on!

  • Not many people are, it's almost impossible at times :)

I'll give you a shout if I find any Pogues lessons.
