This song always sounded to me like the whole band is falling down 20 flights of stairs while still staying upright and playing. Then, at the 4 minute mark, they think they've hit the bottom and can stop.....but then they start falling again until the end where they stick a perfect landing! Love this song.
I love this song! Actually this is one of the better Zeppelin albums in my opinion. The songs were well composed and there was a great vibe and tone to the record. Cheers
I cranked this up in my 1978 Capri Hatchback and it was sooo cool...I raced anyone in that friggin V-6 with Zep blasting...I believe I had on my OP shorts and shirt....TAKE ME BACK!
I owned all the US released Zeppelin albums. Of all of them, my two favorites where "Presence" and "In Through the Out Door". Their music inspired me so much in my youth. Now I am much older but my love for their music hasn't changed. Even my daughter whom is 15 likes a lot of their stuff. It's like magic.
I am suprised this one was not more popular, they pulled it off perfectly. It is one of their most underrated songs I think. But then again, Led Zeppelin doesn't make a bad song, there for almost all of their music is underrated.
I totally groove with this track... It was a perfect fit for Tony Alva's lifestyle in Dogtown and Zboys... But that aside this is one of my favourite of Led Zepp's songs.
Okay, do they have any songs that are less than really, really, REALLY good? Most bands would kill for one song as good as this, but this is fairly obscure LZ.
plant was in accident broke his neck thats y some of zeppz songs his voice is different u can tell bu his voice. im 24 i been listening to led zep all my life there still better then half this rock bands out here

@voodoojanis my fave is physical graphitti but this one does kick ass and is way too underated. probably cause they never went live with this album cause jon bonham had died close to after the recording of this
RP was in a serious car accident in Europe and was in a half body cast during this album(?). The whole story is in 'Hammer Of The Gods ' the unauthorized (UNAUTHORIZED!) bio of the band by their road manager (and disgruntled former employee) Richard Cole. He shows LZ warts and ALL.!! Sometimes he's a little unfair IMO. It is the inside scandalous story by someone who was there. The book remains a definitive bio about the band. It's a little graphic in places tho and NOT for your niece or nephew.
Hots on for nowhere and For your life are just INCREDIBLE songs and they are so underrated that some Zeppelin fans havent even heard them, great vid btw!
@maocapoeira Totally agree. Have you checked out the alternate version of "In The Light" (sometimes called "In the Morning" on the bootlegs). It's one of my favorite pieces of music ever - there are various versions, but the best (in my opinion) is on my channel as a favorite. Check the Rosetta West songs out, too, if you can.
So many sad ass people, put presence down! they put ITTOD down!! it really makes no sense!!! zeppelin never made a bad album!!!!!!! every album is a CLASSIC! P.
This is one of those great rock songs that's fast and rollicking and fun...and about a totally fucking dark state of mind. I always thought it was brilliant to pull something like that off. And of course Page's guitar solo is insane, JPJ and Bonzo are monsters...and you've got a false ending just for kicks. Great. BTW, I just posted a couple raw dark blues songs on my channel "Underground" and Susanna Jones (2011) Zep fans might like them.
verry true plant was in a wheelchair and in great pain while recordind this album!!!!!! read the book HAMMER OF THE GODS!!!!!!!! great book tells all peace to all ZEP FANS!!
@sOaPyiLLuSiON6 I used to know so much about Zeppelin, but over the last twenty years or so have forgotten a lot little details. They are Gods to me. If you want to learn a lot about Zeppelin, read "Hammer of The Gods" Read it at fifteen years old. Like I said, forgot a lot of it, but there's a bunch I do rember. Very good and informative book. Easy reading.
@sOaPyiLLuSiON6 He did, he had a broken ankle, it always makes me laugh thinking of someone having a broken ankle while they record a song called Achilles' Last Stand, Plany always refered to that song as "The Wheelchair Song" which is significantly less epic than calling it "Achilles' Last Stand" haha.
@sOaPyiLLuSiON6 Yeah, a tree hit his car as him and his family were in it. It broke his legs and unfortunately cracked his wife Maureen's skull because it fell on her head. His son and daughter got hurt as well but not as bad as their parents. The only one who got out unharmed was Jimmy Page's daughter who happened to be in the car with them at the time of the accident.
I've always wondered why no one ever knew what I was talking about when I said I liked Zeppelin's The Lala Song. I knew it was a later album, but didn't know which one. Thanks so much for posting!
I'm a long-time Zeppelin fan from way back. Granted, this album was different. I think a lot of people didn't like it. I grew to love it. Different can be good.
