  • Can I do this in a smaller scale? With a smaller cooler perhaps, or?

  • I love these videos. Well done. Thank you very much!

  • well it work for leopard gecko eggs cuz im breeding them n a lot off eggs are coming my way n nice setup to i noe tht well help me with all this eggs because of the space

  • I saw another video where the dude filled the PVC frame with water and used that as his thermal mass. That would give you more room for egg boxes.

  • where i can find refrigerator the like that one

  • is it ok to use this for ball pythons?

  • Is it possible to use plastic tubs that you can buy from Walmart instead of the polycarbonate container from carlisle foodservice products

  • Nice DIY incubator

  • Do you just trust the temp on the thermostat, or do you put another thermometer in there?

  • This is one great video.5*.Thank you so much making this video. How would I have to set it up for the Argentine Tegu eggs ? the same way or different ?

  • Have you ever used spiderrobotics thermostats ? I wanted to know if their thermostats are more procise and durable then Helix ?

    Thanks

  • I have several spider robotics thermostats but they're on my cages. I've never used them on the incubator. The helix basic units have never failed me so I've just continued using them.

  • Are chondros your favorite snake ?

  • Again thanks so much for posting the design on your site, it was a life saver. I searched forever trying to find the perfect design. My incubator is maintaining 99% humidity, the eggs are not getting wet, and all seems to going well! 1000000000 STARZ!!!!!!!!

  • why dont you make a fortuna and sell them

  • There are a few reasons... the least of which are a relatively small market and logistics issues with parts suppliers. I just thought I'd share the idea for others who wish to build one for themselves.

  • How much would all this cost? Do you have to refill the water regularly cause of vapor? Have you ever bread ball Pythons before? If so, is it possible to get diff. morphs breeding a normal X normal?

  • It's been a while since I built the ones I use, but I think the incubator ran about $300 (including thermostat, air pump, heat element, shelving, pans, air lines, fans, electrical connections, cooler, and plexiglass).

I currently have a single ball python that I've had for about 15 years but I've never tried to breed the species. Normals X normals will make more normals. Thanks for the questions!

  • lol ?

  • Cool Incubator. That has to be the smartest design Ive ever seen. How do you run the 12V fan. Im building mines and this is my biggest problem. Thanks

  • I use a 12V transformer to run the fans... just your basic run-of-the-mill wall wart. You can buy them at Radio Shack, but I salvaged mine from some old appliances. Good luck!

  • Can this setup be ok with flexwatt heat tape instead of wire? Also, are the pans with water necessary for ball pythons eggs or other python eggs? thank you.

  • I purposefully stayed away from flexwatt because it's difficult to seal. The interior of the incubator gets humid and trying to isolate the connections on the flexwatt... even with rubber silicone... is not foolproof. The heat cable is sealed so there's a lower likelihood of failure. The set-up will work fine for ball pythons but if you'd rather not use the water trays you'll have to incubate the eggs on vermiculite (or some other alternative) to maintain adequate moisture.

  • awesome

  • Great video!

  • thats awesome id love to have you special make me one of these if onnly you could its funny because i already have the wire defroster
