  • it was a pedophilles paradise, one guy lost his job for touching up kids on the scenic railway, strange as hes back with the project somewhere, would love to know who he is so we can shame him, basically it was never updated and allowed to run into the ground, also the funding they got recently will be ripped off by using contractors which there in with, basically a doomed project

  • Why was it closed?

  • Was there last night. The place seemed like a dive. Weirdos walking around everywhere you look, unused buildings with broken windows and fire damage and the worst b and b in history just up the road. But with some money invested in to it Margate could probably be quite a nice seaside town

  • Oh to go back and do it all again. Loved this place so much. Drove into carpark at the weekend to show my children this place. Told them what was where and just showed them your great film. Many thanks.

  • margate, the theme park of my childhood....but all gone now... :o(

  • @ghostshops Yes, I think your video is very well made, depressing, but very well made nevertheless !

  • I went to dreamlaand many times as I lived a half hour away..it is sad to see its demise...i'd like to see it revived but it depends on who is prepared to put the inveatment in..

  • nice 1 brings back memories

  • good old days :)

  • Aww the ladybird i always wanted to ride that when i was little <3 was always scared lol

  • Just to clarify, the park has not been brought by a new owner. Thanet council are currently in the process of issueing a compulsory purchase order on the current land owner who has owned the site since the Bembom Brothers left in 95. Once this is passed the Save Dreamland campagin will have access to 50% of the land i.e the scenic railway side and plan to turn that half into a heritage theme park.

  • apparently, a new company has bought the land it was on and are building a new theme park soon.

  • shame my kids wont get to enjoy dreamland likei did as a kid

  • Many thanks for posting this. Was nice to look back !.

  • just beautiful to see dreamland at the end of the golden years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I went there in 1999 and loved it, but I went back yesterday just to see what it looked like (cause' I knew it had shut down) and all was left was part of the scenic railway and an old ride over the back... It was heart breaking to see how something has changed so dramatically in a space of 11 years. It had so Many great memories, and now they are all destroyed.

  • re open dreamland had many fun times there while as a child then went on to become a ride attendent awsom time having fun with people of all kinds

  • Brings back many memories of childhood this place...from the 70's thru to the 90's...so sad to see how it is today :(

  • It needs to be revitalised and called Dreamland which it will always be

  • Great video. I went to Dreamland in 1995 and had a great time. I went the following year as well. The ferris was at the time the largest in Europe(it is now in Mexico). Sad about the railway! I hope it gets saved. Margate needs it nowadays!!!

  • Great vid. Loved it. Thanks for posting :)

  • Great Vid !!! Thanks for sharing.

  • scattered my grandad's ashes here last friday, he met my nan here in January 1948. So different now, looks like a ghost town...
