  • Gardner's were good engines i was a bus driver in glasow from 1988-95 the only thing i didn't like about them was they were very slow reving engines and could certainly have been doing with the assistance of a turbocharger.

  • @24nov67

Gardner did do a turbocharged engine, But they wern't very good as the whole point of Gardners was slow revving bottom end power lol

  • That is just music! Give me a 1200 rpm engine over an 1800 rpm engine any day!

  • Fantastic! I'm working on the rebuild of one of these at my local railway at the moment, great engines!

  • It's either a 6LW 8.4ltr or 6LX 10.45ltr. same 6" stroke but different bore.

  • @billalbion It's a 6LX, (4 3/4" bore) the most obvious identifying feature is the centrally mounted, shaft driven fuel pump cambox. The LW cambox is close coupled to the timing case.

  • Great to see a go forever engine the other side of the pond.

  • whats this type called?

I know its not the L3, but cant recall the type.
