  • Multiplexing made easy!

  • lulz

  • thats the most bullshet video ive ever seen when i did pcr it took me 8hours to do so and then it failed because my pippette was contaminated so i felt like jumping out the damn lab window

  • well obviously its not going to be actual time, because they can't fit in into a 40odd minute program >,<

  • i think it was faster than the printer printing

  • Cool, where can we buy the machine and how expensive is it? Oh fuck the money, think of the time we're saving!

  • well... at least they didn't put it in a centrifuge (without contraweight) this time ^^

  • Muszę powiedzieć o tym na swojej uczelni bo to całkiem ciakwe. Czemu na uczelni studenci siedzą i robią to 2-4 godziny, a w CSI zajmuje im to 60s? Jazda:)

  • Pozdrowiam ze Suchej Beskidzkiej Polska (Poland)... Semik!!!

  • i want to buy this PCR-System!!! xD

  • and THAT is why prosecutions have a hard time with convictions. "CSI Effect" is a real problem...

  • hahahahahahahahahahahhahahha very good joke:d

    it normally takes few hours:d

  • It's even funnier than that. Cycle sequencing takes about 3 hours. They put bucchal swabs directly in an ABI377... no prep, no cleanup. That 377 is toast. Someone will have to purge the capillaries and refill them.

You think it doesn't matter, but this is what the public thinks of DNA sequencing... that they can do it from a Q-tip in 15 seconds. I've been to lots of CSI labs... the budget for this show could probably fund every CSI lab in the country.

  • It would make a super entertaining show if every episode was like, we would tell you who the killer was, but we have to wait until next week for our STR profiles! Yeah, there's a reason for time cheating. Everyone knows TV is not real life.

  • Hahahaha amazing!!! I'd like to know the brand of the cycler they are using....I wonder if they have a fast protocol for chromatin IPs as well ....lol

  • at least thats a good ad. for Applied Biosystem!

  • I konw why its so fast:

they don't use primers, DNTPs, buffers or taq, and they don't do temperature cycling either. Let's all do like CSI and cut out those cumbersome bits :-) Can't believe that I all the time thought that the best way to be more efficient is to use a multi-channel pipette.

By the way guys, you don't always need to do extractions, with clones and mtDNA I just stick my sample in and boil at 95 for 5 minutes, just before PCRing, and that works just fine.

  • lol 60 seconds. think of the we could save.

why not make a commercial like the Geico ones. "I just saved 6 hrs on my PCR"

  • lol ... last time i did a PCR it took me a few hours. had a good laugh with this video :)

  • Haha. Ik weet wat je bedoelt Angelco.

  • Wow. I want this technology.

  • Come on, CSI has always been that way. 99% of their techniques are totally bogus.

  • I want this equipament and techniques !!! NOW !!! kkkkkkkkk

  • its very true , we cannot even thaw our reagents so quick. Well the funny part is that it takes atleast 2 hours to extract DNA from Buccal swabs. And wow that was way too fast. If this could happen in reality I would finish my research in a year or less. Funnnyy hahhaha....

  • Obviously they have learned how to manipulate the time-space continuum...

  • WTF???

I can barely thaw the Taq buffer that fast!!

Maybe if it was my sister in the toll booth

  • Hahahah.

    Awesome!

Where can I get that kit and equipment?
