  • Hes a true modern renaissance man. As radical as some of the thing he did were, he was truly a good ole conservative on the inside

  • Hmmmm, please correct this, IT"S NOT J.M.

  • @eclecticfox213 No the song isn't by Jim, and no one said otherwise. But the photos are of Jim.

  • The best of the best!

  • ummm this is NOT Morrison

  • @zman78233 So who is it?

  • Here's a funny fact, Jim Morrisons Father was commander of the U.S. naval forces in the Gulf of Tonkin Incident which was later in a 2005 report exposed that there was no attack by the Vietnamese and that they was provoked by America but never reacted. So Jim was all about FREEDOM but his father was a key figure in creating war through an act that never happened.... sounds famiLIAR.

  • shit song

  • jim moriison had a dark side said so by steevy nicks and our beloved grace slick snuck into jims room one night and fucked it, jims dark side...

  • watch?v=uk60LrtUN8o&feature=related

  • Stardom has a price. It sucks the life out of you. This has been proven, time and again.

At some point, you just want to be liked for being yourself. But it's too late. Similar path of self-destruction for Kurt Cobain.

  • he sure could grow a mighty beard when he wanted to.

  • how can you dislike this song?

  • i love this song... It always makes me cry when i hear it...

  • is that jim morrison singing, have never heard the sond

  • I loved your music... and I love that you moved to Paris. So sorry you died so young.

I always try to pay my respects when I'm anywhere near Pere Lachaise.

  • Thank you Jim, your dreams live on through us.

  • everybody poops

  • @joshy742 agreed

  • Forever A Legend.

  • Jim was looking for enlightenment. Plain and simple.. The way he was is like all of us, searching for the truth, fulfillment. RIP Jim

  • jim is a star, a god hes the world

  • We'll meet someday, somewhere in the cosmos

  • Handsome...

    troubled...

    Singular...

I am sure if God decided to be a vocalist He would be just like Jim Morrison...

There are so many things we can't explain... Jim is basically one of those!!!!

I wish I could have had a chance to be with him!

  • I love the song.....

    Beautiful pictures...

  • do you think jim pooped often?

  • These pictures don't humanize Jim. He can't be humanized. Stop offending him. He didn't want to be free. He didn't want anything!

  • Misused title?

  • Jim is my father, my son and my brother.

  • @funguysmall Naa

  • @laxlaxlacrosse The wierd naked indian has the answers my friend

  • @Chewy240284 nice family

  • those are some great pictures.

they really humanize him. showing him as a simple man. as a person...and not as a super idol rock god.

  • I don't know if this is The Byrd's but they sang this song. Not sure if they were the original band though. The Byrd's version is called "Ballad Of Easy Rider"

  • It's McGuinn singing for the Easy Rider soundtrack - later redone with the Byrds as title song of their fine Ballad of Easy Rider album. Well guessed! Dylan handed McGuinn the first two lines. Also -poignant use of this relatively rare cut as soundtrack to great insider pics of the brilliant shaman Jim Morrison.

  • An Australian band called T.I.S.M. did a poem dedicated to him called Morrison Hostel.Check it out!!!

  • I think this is Roger McGuinn singing.

    Soundtrack of Easy Rider

  • this isn´t even jim...

  • This is beautiful. I love the song and I adore Jim. Thanks for this.

  • Morrison liked Dylan a lot so i imagine he would have apreciated this video :)

  • Yeah I really like this song, who is it by?

  • I don't think this isJim singing...

  • pretty sure bob dylan, it's a song from Easy Rider at least.

  • There's no way in hell it's Bob Dylan it sounds nothing like him.

  • if jim were alive i wonder what his reaction would be to this...would he make a smart ass comment about it?

  • Haha of course he would! lol, he, himself, said he was full of shit... but I think that was his way of understanding that everyone else was full of shit too! Jim was da man!! Full of shit or not, his philosophies were awesome, and he was a mad poet! I have a small rock from his grave!!! RIP Jimmy, baby!!

  • I want a rock from his grave! im goin to paris!

  • Beautiful song for a beautiful fella, he's the essence of the far away irish lad. RIP Jimbo.

  • He was Irish and Scottish

  • we are free ty

  • seems to me..like looking at pictures of a very good friend....

  • agreed

  • jim was is still alive un many of us rock on and thank you for sharing your inner soul

  • we all want to be free.He had the guts to live the way he wanted. That's why so many people love him and his badass fuckin' music THE DOORS FOREVER

  • No way this is Jim Morrison.

    Sounds nothing like him.

  • It's not,and it's not supposed to be. It's Bob Dylan.:)

  • Its not Bob Dylan,he cowrote it though. Roger McGuinn is singing this.

  • CORRECT,how could anyone think this song was the Doors.Good pics. hadn't seen some of them until now. Thinks pojhvcxz

  • did you see the huge buldge in his shorts on that boat, wow

  • sweet, all i know is he drove the gals wild

  • Sorry Jim was a poet elvis a singer.

  • great pictures, i love this!

    RIP Lizard King

  • Great music combined with even greater pictures. Good job :)

  • Dead is free, we are put here to understand hell. When we leave we are free and have an understanding of what it is to be.

  • nice pictures =)

  • i really love this tribute of Jim,there's a few pictures there that i have never seen before.I feel sad watching this,Jim was a human being but as he said,'this is the strangest life i've ever known' i dont think we can even begin to imagine, luv u Jim,xxx

  • what a weird image to end with... he looks constipated.

  • man that is some killah pics of him ,thanks, never understood why he hated his parents so much.

  • beautiful

    Thank you

  • July 3, 1971 (?)....RIP JM.

  • Merci pour cette vidéo d'un homme pur que la société a noicie, ne lui laissant le tremps d'avoir eu ses couleurs... Alors MERCI pour ces sourires couleur de l'arc-en-ciel...

  • Jim Morrison holds the real title ,"an American Icon" secod to none, period.

  • What about 'The King'...Elvis Presley?

  • Elvis was an entertainer and nothing more. He could sing dance and play. But a true musician can write music that reflects his feelings and outlook on the world. Something Elvis couldn't do to save his life.

  • What shoes did Jim wears by 0:08?

  • Adidas universal i think :)

  • thank you

  • adidas or something

  • They had Adidas then??

  • yea, they look it

  • yea they do.

And I checked, and Adidas is from the 1920's.

  • he was the natural best

  • It's called "Ballad of Easy Rider". Enjoy.

  • what is the name of this song?

  • fantastico complimenti

  • C'est trop bon, du Jim comme ça j'en veux encore et encore....Yes.... It's so good..

  • Anyone know where I can find these lyrics?

  • I love this,thanks so much for posting.Great video.

  • at 0:15 he kinda looks like ringo starr..

  • I shed a tear, i can tell you that

the very first picture of this amazing slide show just made me want to cry...

and what to say? the pics truly speak for themselves: Jim, all the way till his final peaceful days in Paris, sympathetic? sure, but i can tell you there's much more behind those eyes...

    Freedom it is!

  • I agree with you...

  • He seems to be very sympathic

  • Simply wonderful!!

    THANKS

  • almost makes me want ta' shed a tear!

  • love it!

    flower power...

  • i DON'T know. that's why i posed the questions. just saw the picture of him sitting on a boat with a fishing pole and wanted to know the story from one who was there.

    blab everywhere?

    you should dismount.

at least smolley is kind enough to share some info.

  • Roger McGuinn of The Byrds did this song. It's called "Ballad Of Easy Rider".

  • Great music! What'd you use for the "The Trip" video? I've gotta find that music.

  • its like watching old family pictures

  • i feel that as well

  • i want to know more about that fishing trip with Babe Hill and Jim's lawyer. Where's Babe anyway, and Tony Faunches. they got stories we need to hear. From people that were there that knew Jim as good as anyone could. I know Leon Barnard has some available. But where's Babe? He was right there. Hope he's OK today on the anniversary of Jim's birth. 64 & so much more. God bless 'em all, everyone!

  • Tony and Babe are still alive. Tony was interviewed for a Doors website, it was interesting if you can find it. Babe is still alive, current photo of him at The Lizard Lounge website; he wont talk about Jim, sure wish he would though.

  • (tvtradz) wish you'd get off your 'i know so much' horse. you're really tiring. picking a few names out of a book is a bit cheap. Smolley28 appears knows a deal more than you, but doesn't blab about it everywhere.

  • I think it might be when The Doors went on vacation to Jamaica after the Miami incident...

  • feel grateful, everything is as it is "this cake is delicious"

  • this song kicks ass...in a sensitive way

  • "We're like actors, turned loose in this world to wander in search of a phantom, endlessly searching for a half-formed shadow of our lost reality. When others demand that we become the people they want us to be, they force us to destroy the person we really are. It's a subtle kind of murder. The most loving parents and relatives commit this murder with smiles on their faces."

  • I'm thinking about this...

    Interesting.

  • fuckin' a.

  • Awful hippie song for Jim.

  • nice video, i like it

  • where is our freedom we are controlled by politicians and the banks, and the goverments to quote jim "youre all a bunch of fucking slaves" jim was way ahead of his time. great vid ...

  • right on

  • i think he also said that "you're all a bunch of spoon fed parasites" too.

prophetic..the writings been on the wall for some time now... and we still are like soft mad children.....

  • very beautiful and true to jim.

  • what means the word "freedom" on this planet? nothing. that´s why he did as he did.

  • I agree,beautiful but sad. R.I.P. Jim

  • I want this song played at my funiral.

  • his spirit lives on! RIGHT ON!

  • Cheers Jim, it's a pleasure to share a birthday..

Why does freedom cost so much?

  • the best front man of any band. that's my dude right there.

  • Very beautiful. Sad but beautiful...

  • this is Jim Morisson...in the Movie the Doors Val Kilmer interpets a overrated-drunk-Jim Morrison with no love for live...come on, look at the pictures, an happy man:)

  • Youre so right, Jim Morrison was an unusual individual, difficult to grasp. Obviously much too difficult for that moron Oliver Stone, who had to resort to complete fabrications to create a story. Jim Morrison deserved better than that.

  • wonderful

  • rare and beautiful.

  • pretty good video ;)
