I really hope that No Child Left Behind is stopped, because it is killing our Educational system and our future Economy.

I agree that the Educational System is going down hill for sure, but that is not why. No, it is because we keep having to do standardized tests for the State, the Country, the City, and the District. We are trained to be in testing all the time, and not remember things that are useful for life. Yes, we are getting stupider, but I am not going to let myself suffer. I really hope that No Child Left Behind is stopped, because it is killing our Educational system and our future Economy.

The Educational System has been going downhill since the Government got its hands on it about 50 years ago.
The whole purpose of testing is to make sure the kids are learning, how else can we know if they are?
Education tests us on how well we can pick things up, not how well we will remember it for life.
Problem with education are the unions and the pushing of political agendas. It's pushing certain people's points of views and convenient facts, rather than the whole picture.

I'm not saying Fox is right wing at all. I'm just saying Fox is the only one trying to be fair and balanced. That is to say they rip on the Rep. as well as the Dems. They don't have an agenda like BSNBC (which hasn't said ONE THING negative about the Dems). It's all bad Bush and the Rep. ABC and CBS aren't as bad as NBC but they all strongly favor the left.

Have to STRONGLY disagree with that. MSNBC does appear to have an agenda, but they are - from a media accuracy standpoint - in a better position than FOX. Murdoch has admitted that he has an agenda.
MSNBC should certainly be criticized if they're reporting is inaccurate. As should Fox. It's not about right or left, those terms are useless (and practically meaningless in the MSM)- what's important is accuracy of information and good journalism practices which almost nobody practices anymore.

I said they *do* appear to have an agenda. I find that they're more accurate in their reporting than Fox, but I certainly don't rely on them for news coverage.
Like I said before, it's not about right or left, it's about journalistic integrity and accuracy. Which almost nobody in television journalism is a good example of...
