He also directed The Hunt For Red October. McTiernan was just in the zone in the late 80's-early 90's. I'd agrue he was better during that period than Cameron or Spielberg. Too bad he couldn't keep it up, but at least we got at least 3 classics out of him.

I think I am one of the people yound enough to not have seen Die Hard - and I'm not really an 80's action hero kind of guy anyway (added to that the fact that for some reason bruce willis always seems to annoys me - just something about him aggrivates him) but after this review when I find the time I will watch Die Hard and live in hope it changes my view on Bruce Willis

The only part of this movie I didn't like was the part where he falls in the elevator shaft and manages to grab the very edge of a ventilation shaft as he's falling. It was really just unbelieveable where the rest of the movie, although over the top, was fairly believeable as far as action movies go. I just really hate that scene. Other than that I totally agree with you. One of my all time favorite action flicks.

May I suggest other great movies from the 80's Blues Brothers, or something from the Stallone, Schwarzenegger vault maybe, and you guys got to throw in a few bad movies to shake things up, nothing of the top of my head but none the less Big fan of you guys, Keep up the great work!!
