  • がルバトロン様、万歳!!! ばんざーーーーーい!!!!

  • Hirotaka Suzuoki also played Bright Noa from Gundam.

  • I would've loved to hear starscream scream before his death in the american version.

  • Galvatron-sama!

  • thx for the upload! i'm chinese and i watched the movie for the first time in japanese dub becasue it was never offcially dubbed in chinese. having listened to chinese, japanese and original english versions of TF, it's interesting to observe how people from the east share similar ideas with their renditions of tf characters, especially Prime, Megs and Starscream. The Chinese and Japanses versions of these three share amazingly similar traits, which made them distinguishable from the original.

  • Starscream calls himself "ore-sama", fits the character well I think.

  • Japanese Starscream sounds like he's terrified when Galvatron shows up.. his "Megatron, is that you?" sounds like an "Oh shit!" moment while in the English version it's more like a "Wha?!" kind of thing.

  • I don't know how anyone can call a robot "Handsome."

  • @Damolisher I wondered the same thing....and then I got really into Transformers ;p

  • @SketchitGirl17 Yeah, that's great. It's not only a cartoon, but a cartoon robot.

  • @Damolisher All the more strange...yet somehow possible

  • @SketchitGirl17 Yeah, that made no sense at all, but then again, if fangirls made sense, this conversation wouldn't be happening.

  • I rather think this dubbing is good.

  • The Japanese version of this movie is so bad I almost expected star scream to yell "What a world! What a world!" As he melted.

Why do they need to fill every single frame with superlative voice acting? Sometimes less is more.

  • I would of loved to see Chris Latta reprise his role in the Live Action Movie

  • same here, sadly he has been dead since 1994

  • you should upload the full movie in japanese

  • @Jungl3Y3tt1e I would, if I could FIND the damn thing.

  • @BluntmanEXE is the japanese version any different or longer?

  • @wungta Nope, it's the same as the European version.

  • The extra screaming kills it...

    Starscream never screamed!

  • @MaxLindenProduction

Could you have imagined though if Chris Lata would have screamed in pain? I think would have added to the brutality of the moment.

  • @Dwnshifter Think about when Cobra Commander (also played by Chris Latta) screamed in agony in G.I. Joe the Movie when he was mutated by the Cobra-La spores, then think about that screaming overlayed over Starscream's death scene. Kinda cool.

  • *Blasts Constructicons' horns*

    Starscream: That's better...

  • If you're Chris Latta or Hiortaka Suzuki, a Starscream Death Scream is always delicious.

  • I love how the jpn Starscream's voice shows emotion when asking Gslvatron if he is Megs

  • this is good acting!

  • Galvatron sama BANZAII!

  • omg this was more awesome. starscream sounds badass. and he looks badass too. ooooooo. i cant wait for his ghost to get revenge

  • Ese grito de dolor antes de morir, le faltaba a la voz de starscream en Ingles.

  • I think the Japanese dubbers did a good job. They kept the original music and sound effects, and many of the Japanese voice actors (except for Starscream's) sounded a lot like their English counterparts. In fact, I think some of the changes were actually imrovements. I always thought it was ridiculous that the Lithonians were completely silent as their planet was being devoured around them. The dub had them screaming in panic.

    (Continued)

  • (Continued)

I also thought it was ridiculous how Starscream didn't make a sound as he was being disintegrated. The dub had him screaming in agony. There are plenty of other examples of this throughout the dub. It makes it much more realistic.

  • Starscream's deathcry was scary.

  • Frenzy kinda sounds kinda like a kid in his Japanese voice.

  • The Japanese voice actor for Starscream sounds much better than the American voice actor for Starscream.

  • @ASTROTRAINDZero3 No offense to Chris Latta, but l prefer the japanese voice since it makes Starscream sound more intelligent, cunning, and noble over the scratchy high pitch US voice

  • Chris Latta and Hirotaka Suzuki...

They're both gone. From east and west,

    we all miss you Starscream!

  • good to know this scene is funny in both english and japanese.

  • nice dude, starscream in english or in japanese is equaly awesome

  • Does anyone know where I can get the full vid?

  • Galvatron-sama, banzai!

  • Starscream should not make a sound when shot that makes it far more shocking. He was in shock and stunned.

  • all the japanese voices sound alike... Its like they have 2 guys in the studio trying to voice all the characters!

  • japanese transformers is alot better then the americans because the starscreams voice sounds lika a man,in america is lika a wimpy guy and they sound more animated

  • He SHOULD sound whiny because starscream is a weasle and a back stabbing coward.

  • japanese ver emphasized the other side of starscream.

his pride and ambition, and of course his handsome face.

watching his deeds, cowardness is needless to say.

after all, people prefer the familiar voice, I think.

  • Handsome face? He was not a proud warrior, he tried to shoot megatron in the back in the first episode, he was a whining weasle.

  • Jetrons...well...Seekers?(Skywarp&Thundercracker&Starscream) has handsome face.

    Handsome has other meanings?

    Handsome & Coward...is comic charm.

  • He is closer in conceit called the pride than a pride as a proud soldier.

    Well, he does not seem to leave it in a feeling like a noble soldier ^^;

It's very likely that handsome face of his own promotes conceit.

  • starscream sounds better in english more whineier voice, in japanese he sounds to strong

  • These japanese clips are fantastic! Starscream even sounds good in Japanese, but nothing compares to Chris

  • Where can I find the whole movie to watch with english subtitles?

I own the english one but I would love to experience this whole thing in Japanese. Cause they're also obviously saying more stuff in these cause they're talking a lot more while they're fighting.

  • Kay, I'm not disrespecting the original voice of Starscream. Chris Latta was a genious. He made him sound like a psychopathic killer mixed with some twisted sense of humor. But you gotta admit, they make brutal parts seem particularly intense with they're shreeks they have characters make. All and all though, I still always prefer Chris Latta's version.

  • That's the spirit Man, That's the spirit.

  • I don't know. I can't feel Starscream with the voice the Japanease actors gave him. Starscream just isn't Starscream without the high pitched voice that the late Chris Latta gave him.

  • I agree.

  • Me Too

  • Man, they REALLY should have added the Japanese version to the 20th anniversary edition DVD.

  • I hope that do this version on the BLU-RAY or DVD ( 2-disc ) soon !

  • So do I.

  • If they do , put Stan Bush video , japanese lang. , and deleted scenes ,also alot more.

  • I agree. I bought it thinking it was on there, and I was bummed out that it wasn't.

  • Also, notice on 00:29 and on 00:42-00:44, that Starscream's fingers also look different than they were earlier in the film. Instead of the more, human-esque fingers, Starscream has more mecha-like fingers.

  • It's a key scene so the animators spent a little more time on it. It's pretty common to up-detail in certain scenes, at least in Japanese animation of this era.

  • Starscream GETS IT in EITHER way STILL IT'S A CLASSIC (it's doesn't matter it's japanese or english it's still that GODDAMN funny because his cowardice , his plot ,& more. Still IT'S Sucks To Be Starscream )

  • Wow! Japanese Starscream rules! I still love Chriss Latta and the Dobson bro's Starscream(Armada-Cybertron, etc.), but this guys cool too! Whose his voice actor I wonder? I hope he's still voice acting!

  • All in the voice of this EVIL S.O.B. that we love so much!!!(2 out of the rest is dead THEY brought Starscream to LIVE more then anyone)

  • hey that's cool! Starscream actually mkaes some kind of noise when shot in this version!

  • Yeah! That was a nice touch instead of the "silent shock" treatment we gave him.

(you know, he was shot, but seemed more stunned that megatron returned). Oh well...still awesome!

  • Yeesh, I guess dubbing is bad no matter which country does it XD; and all this time I thought only the Americans sucked at dubbing.

Other then the added dialog and the screaming and whatnot I just...can't get used to the idea of Starscream with a deep voice. It just seems...wrong O.o

  • "I just...can't get used to the idea of Starscream with a deep voice."

I don't suppose you've seen the 2007 movie, have you?

  • Yes I have, didn't much like his voice there either but it's not as bad as this IMHO.

  • If you see the movie of 2009 you'll see that the 2007 voice was synthesized and without the synthesizer it makes the voice to sound more like Chris Latta

  • transformers had human characteristics...loyalty, greed, betrayal, humor, bravery, cowardice, pain, etc. that's how we connected with them in the series and movie in the first place.

  • Good point.

  • Thank you VERY MUCH dude!

  • No problem.

  • Geez, Galvatron. You made Starscream...well... *scream*. Way to go!! I do prefer the English voices though... and if you think about it, they're robots, would he have really felt excruciating pain in the same sense that we know it? Have they ever really "cried out" in pain in the original G1 cartoon?

  • For other Transformers in G1, sometimes no...but in the case of Starscream, yeah! He cried like a bitch at times.(Episode 3 when Meg's shot his arm...best example). Anyway, good call dude! I think anyone would scream after getting shot like that! The US version-I think it was the shock of Megs return that kept him silent before he became ash.

  • Dude, you're more than welcome to your opinion, but that last comment was TOTALLY uncalled for.

  • To rokudamia:Shut up already

  • R.I.P Hirotaka Suzuoki 1950-2006 (Starscream)

  • It's a shame his English vocie actor died also.

  • Rest in peace to two great actors. They will be missed and remembered.

  • Yep, I'm a fan of Chris Latta and Hirotaka Suzuki

  • They were the best.

  • Yeah, Man

  • yay yay yay!!!!

    DIE STARSCREAM DIE!!!

youre all a bunch of captains

  • it was better without the scream. sounds like a pretty bad dub actually.

  • DIE, STARSCREAM, DIE!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE YOU SO BAD BECAUSE OF YOUR DEATH! Good riddance.

  • This is one of the greatest movies ever. Poor Starscream though.

  • Megatron, now known as Galvatron, returns with a vengeance! And unlike in the English version, Starscream actually screams before his body crumbles to ashes! A very gruesome and horrible death indeed!

  • They're robots, they don't feel "pain" the same way we do, would he have really "screamed" to begin with? I'm just asking...

  • Well, I guess the Japanese actors thought it would seem more dramatic if Starscream actually screamed in his last agonizing moments before his death. Just as most of the acting in the Japanese dub seems more life like than the original English version. Its not bad though.

  • this is bad comedy

  • Starscream sure feels more pain here. LoL
