The mayor inspired a T-shirt design by my friend. He's got them printed on 10 shirts and has them listed on ebay under the search phrase Bloomberg Spanish. :)

So I'm thinking that a politicain gets an "A" for effort when attempting spanish at a pointless campaign stop while they are kissing babies and shaking hands. NOT when you are giving life and death information about a hurricane! For pete's sake get an interpreter man! For this he is a moron!

Yes but at least Jeb Bush actually spoke Spanish fluently when he would do his updates during Hurricanes..I'm not asking for fluent but for it not to sound like a 2nd graded reading out of a textbook!
Good that he tried. In the south, everyone is just trying to deport people who don't understand or speak english, let alone give them life saving information. It was an act of kindness, and at least he didn't curse or give the wrong info by mistake:)
Obviously, he isn´t a Castilian Spanish (who speak the language the best), but he is quite understandable. The only real mistake is saying "quedanse" instead of "quédense".
BTW, although his accent is horrible, GWBush´s and Obama´s are also nightmares to a Spaniard´s ears.
