I'm doing a science project on the Long Eared Jerboa, are you sure it's endangered because I've read that that aren't even concerned about the population of them.
@singingrabbit123 that's probably a different species of Jerboa. I think this mongolian species is endangered but there are other types of Jerboa found in the middle east that I think are probably the ones people keep as pets
It's stupid, the comments about wanting one or tracking one down. As poorly done as the narration is, it's talking about how this is an endangered species. People don't realize that one of the threats to an animal species may be capture for the purpose of personal ownership or trade. And, even saying once that you "want one" has the potential to inspire trade. Don't be even more stupid and propose that you could breed them. Unless you're educated & experienced... just say "cute" and move on.
@Daveyohwhat what if they are reffering to capturing several in order to breed them in a protected environment, in order to release them back into the wild after they have reproduced?
@TWOfudgies I highly doubt that a person qualified or educated to the point of being capable of properly doing so would be making blithe comments about it on a YouTube video.
so i believe that it should now be mandatory that all people have one of these to improve their life because if i had one my life would be so perfect =)
"I want one, I want one, I want one", is that the only thing you can say about this awesome little creatcha? Blimey, if I could take back this vid I would, you materialistic bastards.
ARGH! MUST... HAVE... :| I shall henceforth devote my life to finding several members of the species and then breeding them! Jerboa ranch, here I come!
its fine to keep hamsters and parrots at home. Me, being a freak when it comes to animal abuse and neglect, will tell you, that it is perfectly fin to keep parrots and hamsters at home. It is fine if they are given the proper care and attention and if they are not being hurt or anything.
broadwayxoqueen114: It's highly endangered, so you can't keep it as a pet, that would be illegal. Even if it wasn't an endangered animal, it is not domesticated and would have a hard time if you took it out of its natural habitat. People have tried to keep wild meerkats in homes but they become neurotic and display unnatural behavior.
i wasn't talking about keeping the Jerboa as a pet, i was talking about hamsters and parrots, and fish. I know that you shouldnt keep the Jerboa as a pet or any animal that is highly endangered or isn't supossed to be keep as pets and would find it hard to survive in a cage or home.

Do not keep at home wild animals as pets!
They should live in the nature. Do you think, a small hutch can replace that?
I'm writing this, because a lot of people think it is alright to keep parrots, hamsters etc. at home. Well, it is NOT.
utcakukac 4 years ago 4
its fine to keep hamsters and parrots at home. Me, being a freak when it comes to animal abuse and neglect, will tell you, that it is perfectly fin to keep parrots and hamsters at home. It is fine if they are given the proper care and attention and if they are not being hurt or anything.

i guess so , i could see what u mean but i think that its fine if you take care of it. . it could be wrong if they were treated badly
