There really isn't much to worry about Leos getting impaction from mealworms. Their stomachs are designed to break down insect matter. Just saying. Your gecko is awesome btw.
Haha I love the "good boy, good boy!" I just hand-fed my gecko cuz he's been refusing to eat, and i got him to eat out of my hand and I was like "yay lightning! Mommy's so proud of you!" :)
freeze dried mealies are even more of a risk of impaction! all mealies contain chitin (exoskeleton) but when you dry them it causes the inside of the insect to dry out thus increasing a risk of impaction! wean him back onto fresh mealies, and saying that you have no choice is a load of bull
hi i was wonderinf if someone can answer my questions is it ok for a baby leo to be in a 15 galon tank to have 2 hiding spots one in the day light side and one in the night bulb to have him on sand and have a small spot of plants for humidity how much food a day does it it ? in mealworms or in crickets please help me!
I use to use live mealworms but petsmart's supplier of mealworms had an accident and then the mealworm supply was cut short so i started just using the flurkers worms and after that he wouldnt take live so i had no choice :(

Is it better to hand feed your gecko? Or let it get the crickets himself?
