This is very cool. I don't have designer aspirations, but I am a house wife who wants to be able to inexpensively make nice clothes that FIT me. These make it way less intimidating for me thanks!
I believe the ease is in the measurement, however if it's not you can add about 1/8". Don't forget to fit & make adjustments on your body before you put it on fabric :)
Because there is no darts I am assuming this is for a pencil skirt that is strecthy??? I didn't see you add any ease either should you add ease with a strech pencil skirt or do you just use your exact measurements and only add seam allowence?
Thanks for this tutorial! I watched this all the way through and then followed the instructions as I was watching it a second time and I came out with a pattern in about half an hour. Before I found this video I was freaking out because I thought I may have to take apart one of my skirts so I had a base for my Halloween costume.
These are great videos! Thank you so much for making them. Seriously, I made the pattern and skirt in about an hour - including adding the zipper and doing all the hems. I'll be looking forward to more... may I request a princess-cut vest?
Hi. I love all of the videos. I find them to be very informative and clear. Do you have any videos though about drafting blouses and shirts for women or even dresses?
THIS IS MY FAVORITE VIDEO I LOVE THE BEGINING AND I THINK THE MUSIC IS COOL AND JUST LOW ENOUGH TO TALK OVER PERFECT JOB AND YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL AS WELL
The darts are based on your preference. I do have the skirt tutorial with darts as well. Please check for the 2 part skirt tutorial. Try both...the practice never hurts :) @dpiefke
please please make a video on how to sew the whole thing! looking forward to it! im a newbie at sewing and i find ur patternmaking tutorial really helpful. thanks a bunch!
Really useful & easy to understand.... but I'm a beginner & I need to know how you actually cut out & make up the skirt from this pattern... do you have a tutorial to get me to the finished product?! Thanks
Absolutely!! In fact, I'm going to have a tutorial on substituting some of the pattern making tools on October 31st. I'll show you how to draw in the curves w/o the hip curve ruler and show you some other tips as well. Thank you for watching!
That's Great! Keep tuning in I'll have some nice stuff :)

Hi, thank you very much for the video. I have just a small question. Is it not necessary to add ease to the hip and waist?

The overlay of music is maddening. I have to have the music up really loud to hear you.

I love this - do you need to add darts or because of the curve does this eliminate the need?
