The first two things i would recommend If you can afford them. They will speed up you progress once incorporated with points 1-6 below however are not ultimately necessary.
1. Don't rush your shots.
One of the biggest mistakes hunters make is shooting too fast. There's no need to rush. Instead, make a deliberate effort to slow down when raising your gun, tracking your target and squeezing the trigger at just the right moment.
when a duck comes flying you barely have enough time to raise your gun and shoot..you would do great if you get to hit it...forget the damn head....have you ever hunted motherfucker ? usually a duck will fall even without a head shot because the under part of his belly has no feathers to protect from shots...A good powerful shotgun with size BB or bigger shots will do the job at less than 75 yards even without a headshot...he may not die but will fall..expertvillage is crap
Instead of aiming for the head you can also shoot in the ducks asshole...when the shot gets lodged in the ducks anus it will die from constipation....so i dont think headshot is the only way to kill it
LOL i just watched his other video on ammo and i think this one is even worse. hes acting like hes using slugs.. what an idiot.. its hard to hit a duck specifically in the head with a spread of bb's.. hahaha.. wow. i feel bad for the people who try to act like they know what they are talking about.. thats almost like saying "if you shoot a deer in the head you dont have to track it, so aim for the head"
thank you so much, i haven't ben out duck hunting yet. but my boyfriend is taking me out this upcomming season and goose hunting the first weekend of september so im excited :) i just have to get all the gear and everything i need for when i do go out! thank you so much
Hugo, you are the god of duck hunting. Your tips have made me such a great hunting. Aiming for the head is a great idea! I have been shooting at the feet, hoping to hit them so they cant walk.
true head shot are most effective on ducks but he is compleatly wrong when he said that you dont kill ducks by shooting them in the body, every time i go hunting i shoot multiple ducks in the body just below the wing and when the shot hits them they are as good as dead plus you cant us lead duck hunting because all of these stupid tree huggers saying it gives the ducks lead poisoning but the ducks have to ingest the lead to be harmed so everything is screwed up now
Thank you so much buddy youve totally changed my entire duck hunting mentality thanks to you i know not to shoot ducks in the ass and in the head things are really working out for me
Thanks for the advice, it has been working really well ... it is so much easier than what I have been doing in the past. Previously I have just been strategically placing explosives in various decoys and setting them off when ducks approach. Call me old fashioned I guess but this new method is working out much better and I might even be able to keep a dog through a duck season for once.
let me clear this up..... the head is a target, obviously a moving target (unless your shooting them off the water...) depending how fast the duck is traveling or in what direction it headed (towards you, away, or parallel) you have to use the head as a "landmark" to know how much to leed them by..... you dont just aim at the head (unless the ducks wings are cupped, ready to land...)
another load of crap from youtubes biggest fertilizer salesman. Aim for the head? seriously? first off, you dont aim a shotgun, you POINT it. The main reason people say to go for the head is to avoid shooting behind the bird. Second, If you want to learn how to shoot ducks, you need to learn how to shoot clay pidgeons first.
I do agree. It is not right to practice on live targets. Lead has nothing to do with the target/duck speed as long as you move the gun at the same speed of the bird when you pull the trigger. Lead is considered based on the distance from the target, so the closer target, the less lead. Many people may challenge it because they lead the moving target and they get it. They either don't move the gun with the target or they move the gun and stop it when they pull the trigger!
first of all ur a retard and you dont hunt ducks with lead asshole. and also you lead them so more bb's hit the duck because they fly fast wich means u have to lead them
um i dont see how my explanation differs from yours.... you must use lead either way when hunting ducks, yes, because they fly fast and using more or less lead when close or far away..... you make no sense trying to make it seem like i dont know what im doing, u said the same thing i did.......dick lick
hey buddy learn about it a body shot will kill em just as good as the head will ive shot alot of ducks im only sixteen and got my own boat so do the math before makeing a vid
