I understand your frustration with your "overdue" student loan, regardless of whether or not the loan you took out had a major effect on your current life, does not give you the right to asertain whether or not you have to pay it back! regardless OF HOW FAR BACK IT WAS TAKEN OUT! everyone else has to, what makes you think you have to be exempt from that! excuses! just pay your student loan back! No one forced you to take it out besides yourself, i dont see y u have to be so anti towards ird!

I had a student loan of about $40k when I left NZ and it rose to 90k over that 8 years I have been in Australia. Last year I figured to eliminate it and declared bankruptcy in New Zealand. It took me 5 mins on the Insolvency Website and I got legal advice first from Australian and New Zealand firms. It has not affected my life in Australia (the land of the fair go) whatsoever, and I have gotten bank loans etc, no dramas. Whew! Wankers!
