Boundries Should never ever be Crossed ,, & Stealing Grave Stones ,Is a No No..Tough Luck for the Theif, But he Got what he Deserved, No Sympathy for him or any other Grave stone Robbers..
I've got one, it was made for some lad from Galway who got killed in the trenches in WWI, but the carver got one of the dates wrong so they had another one made, my great great grandad, who was a friend of the family, was asked whether he'd like it and for some unknown reason he said he did, it's been in the family ever since.
Think of how many cultures our "righteous" American Government has destroyed. It makes sick how they wipe their bloody mouths and play that bringer of light, freedom and democracy bullshit. I think most major countries are responsible for their own bloody massacres and travesties of justice, but when one tries to put on the air of innocence and righteousness it makes their crimes against humanity (both past and present) even more grievous.
Interesting story, though I found myself wondering, again, "Why do upper class Scottish people speak RP English?" I suppose they learn it at public school, but it seems so odd to hear a "Scottish clan chief" sounding like he comes from Belgravia.
The picture of the guy who died , did anyone else notice the eyes ? they seemed black ,i`d love to know if that photo was taken of him after he had stolen the grave stone .
Poor guy ,but this is telling of modern education or should i say lack of .
Every body should know that it is very bad luck to desecrate a grave in any way.
What facinating people. How rich their heritage and culture is. Why haven't the multiculturalists set about genociding these people yet by bringing in millions upon millions of blacks, arabs and asians to breed them out of existance and dispossess them just like they're doing to all the other European peoples? Maybe the Hebrides islands aren't all that high on their list of priorities. I'm sure they will get around to making this place another third world colony eventually though.
Poor laddie? It was probably him who stole it. Who else would keep it in his apartment after claiming he found it in a field? Serves him right, thieving little git!
@jo979 While I agree it was probably him that stole it, I don't agree that it 'serves him right'...Somehow I don't feel the crime of robbery should end in the consequence of death.
Thanks for posting this for others to see, I can understand people searching for 'roots' as the programme suggests but to have that stone in a room with you is a bit creepy. Of course the chaps demise could be explained away as just another unfortunate death, but it does seem to be a bit of a coincidence doesn't it?
Hi, Death by misadventure means when you do something silly like drink too much and choke on your own vomit, or jump off a bridge and break your neck, that sort of thing.
I love that. The guy "found it in a field." That's like robbing money from a bank and saying "I found the money in a bank"

this is all rather tasteless - turning some poor laddie's death into a pantomime.
