  • By Golly wow!!! She moan incredibly deep, just incredible richness!!!!! I especially am excited in seeing a 1800 series "RTS" G.M.C. {built from the PA-1200-2800 original batch} in a time when these vintage fleets is getting more hijacked by low floor battery-operated based units!! What strike me is her 6V-92N asperator/filters!!!! Plus her rearend sound all the merrier, if I may!!!! Excellent video rotation sir, Thanks indeed for Sharing!!! More please?

  • HAI stands for Hospital Audiences Inc. They transport wheelchair and bedridden patients to certain events, such as the NYC Marathon. In the past, they have used ex NYCT buses so this is no surprise. I had a chance to see HAI in operation at a marathon where I was a volunteer and they do amazing work.

  • This bus has the 6V92TA with the Allison V730 transmision, not the 6V71TA with the Voith transmission! None of the RTS buses I've seen has ever had the Voith transmission.

  • NOTICE : THIS IS NOR NATURAL. I have say that were not naturals before. it were the Detroit 6V71 + TA and these was not a J coat built 204 which have been fatter. this was a originale genuwine real T8W 604 GMC RTS 04 coach made off GMC on 1980 and as 1982 on as nycta. fleet numbre 1 8 4 8 ex nycta. 1987 were TMC.

  • This bus DOES have a 6v92TA with an Allison V730, NOT a 6v71. Buses in the 1800s had the 92. Every other RTS in the city that is in actual MTA service has a Detroit Series 50 and an Allison V731

  • HOLY COW you what i an crying again now too hear it again a well got a GMC RTX.04. RTC Ride 6V71TA nyct from 1980 in there. this was FANTASIC off filns! these was amost the earlest DETROITS 6V71TAs and V30 transimmions form in as nyc TAs. the sound has very early as well no TV on there back in as those TA is SCREAMIMG your listen the Voir. 730 gearchains!! FANTASIC filns A+1000Star

  • I can't believe I missed that that day...

  • You were around?

  • I live right around here yep.. As a matter of fact if I had stayed there just a few minutes more I probably would have seen this... I live on Sanford Avenue too btw

  • Oh. This was about 2:50 I'd say

  • Ehh.. 30 minutes more and I would have caught it.. Oh well

  • When was it going too repower too the series 50 which have get a screaming pippings off a DETROIR DIESELS TAs finnigpipes that is streaming well? how many year ago were that GMC RTX Ride.04 coaches film it is the 1980 models coach as well. can you aboard it one time is cheap?

  • henrythebusguy, listen carefully before replying back to me! The Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine has been discontinued since 2005 due to EPA standards.

  • OMG... that engine noise brings back memories from when I was 5

  • This RTS-04 was running for Hospital Audiences Inc, I believe. Maybe those white unmarked RTS's I've seen were also hai.

  • that is the 1982 GMC RTS,what was that bus before it was transferred to hai?

  • No idea, probably storage

  • Actually, I remember the RTS-04's of '82 and their seamless windows, very similar to the Grumman Flxible 870 buses of the time. I think this is a 1985 RTS.

You sure this is an '82 RTS?

  • yes it the 1982 RTS,it said on the roster.

  • Wait, you have the ID #1848. What year exactly was this bus delivered to the TA?

  • Mid 80s

  • Thanks, and do you know the date by which it was disposed of by the TA? With all the far newer RTS's in Eastchester ''storage'', I think this question's quite relevant. We're seeing waste everywhere.

  • I'm not sure where it was stored, but it was retired probably in the early 2000s. Maybe a smaller yard. I know theres two GMCs (one is fake, it was a movie bus) in a lot by Ikea in Red Hook

  • This is one is rare! A 1986 or prior RTS-04. That 6v-92TA sounds healthy, and same whine!

    Great catch!
