I know people are gonna bust my chops for this but I thought the movie was okay, not perfect at all, and certainly not the best movie this summer (I personally think Star Trek shits all over this) but I was able to sit through it without cringeing, it was decent. So before everybody unleashes a shitstorm upon my head, just know there will always be people who will like it and obviously some who won't. I thought it was all right.

You're right about that.. Year One was terrible. I don't know what they were thinking when they made it. Transformers 2 wasn't the worst, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

Yep, Year One was terrible, Harold Ramis reached a new low with that one. And I will admit Transformers 2 all in all was very meh for me. Its no Star Trek or Iron Man, thats for sure, hell the first movie was better. But the action was good, but I think what ruined it for most people was purely the humor in it. I thought it was terrible as well, but for me, it didn't ruin the movie, the movie was simply dumb-fun. So I'd give it a 6/10 or so, it was decent but Transformers 3 needs to be better.

Oh yeah, I really like the first Transformers. It may not be that that clever and some of the humor was kind of dumb, but other times the humor actually worked really well. The humor in Transformers 2 and the length (2 and a half hours) is pretty much what ruined it for me, but I can understand that you just went along for the ride.

By the way, I also saw Star Trek and Iron Man and they are great!

I admit I haven't seen this but it looks fucking horrible. I think we need to be knocked back a few years to when we knew how to properly use CGI, if at all. Think about it. Jurassic Park: lots of CGI but used well and model dinosaurs used when possible. Transformers 2: Looks like the god of CGI jizzed allover the screen.

I disagree with your review here Michael. While I enjoy and agree with most of your reviews. I just find the one you did here plain wrong. You shouldn't expect a sci-fi movie based on Transforming vehicles a grammy esque film. This movie entertained me more than any other movie this year. That was the films purpose. I do understand though that the film had plot holes and too much crude humor but the explosions drowned it out. I'd give it a 4/5

I thought the acting in particular was exactly what it needed to be. Not fantastic by any means, but energetic and it kept the action moving. I had a good time at the movie.

Should I give it a high rating because it was exactly what I was expecting? NO!! Your comment makes no sense! The story of Transformers 2 didn't need to be deep, but it should be easy to keep up with. This movie has some of the lowest and crudest attempts at humor and it's WAY too long. I would give it a 1/4.

Absolutely, I agree. This movie was painful. I LOVE transformers. Grew up with transformers. Thought the first movie was passable, but not bad. Needed a little more of the human touch, although the bots were cool, and the script was decent.

This movie had no script, I think they just threw it in the garbage, bigger robots, more destruction, and Megan's butt. Perfect for 14 year olds, but not good enough for the original transformer fans.

I knew coming in to this movie that it wasn't gonna be a masterpiece, and to my surprise, it wasn't. But that doesn't mean it sucked. Infact, if your seeing this expecting just a fun, dumb, action film, with great CGI, plenty of explosions that only Micheal Bay can dish out, then you won't be dissapointed. Overall, decent film, just don't expect "The Dark Knight" quality from this.

Great review mister Phillips. I think this one was one of your most complex, because you really had fun bashing it. I really don't know in what category to put it: action-exploitation, explosions-exploitation, sex-exploitation ( Megan Foxy) or just CGI-exploitation. the conclusion the plot of the movie was transforming allover the movie and I can't believe John Turturro who played in Miller's Crossing played this crap for the big pay check. Well it is an economic crisis. Glad Bay has his money.
