I do have to say that even though I think the Turtles wouldn't be anything without the black and white comics and that the 2000 series is not TOO bad, I personally think the classic turtles are the only real and true turtles. Comedic and funny. I mean come on! They're giant talking Ninja turtles. I do enjoy them being a bit more action and a tad serious here and there, but the classics are the only way to go! In my opinion at least. :)

Honestly as a kid, i loved the original cartoons. Then when i was around 10 i discovered the mirage series. Changed my opinion of TMNT FOREVER. I immediately loved the comics and didn't like the series until the final 3 series of the cartoon. When the 2003 series started i really enjoyed it. Utroms, baxter stockman, and the new footclan were amazing. The action scenes were incredible, they followed both archie AND mirage continuities, and the stories were brilliant.
Man, I actually think both theme songs are cool. I mean, how aren't they, they're classics man. "Turtles in a half shell!" and "1, 2, 3, 4, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!"
While I agree the quality of the video games should have no bearing on this countdown, it WOULD be nice to see you compare them in a separate video. Likewise with the toys.

When I was around six or seven years old I had three VHS tapes of the classic TMNT. I watched them so much that eventually they broke! Later on, when I was about eleven I caught the new TMNT on cartoon network. I remember thinking "I wish this new series was like the old ones!"
Think about the time these series were made. Of course on the first series you will find lots of comedy, jokes and almost no fighting scenes because of the fact that it was a kids show and they took very seriously the "violence" matter. Now you can see violence on almost any show for kids because.......... hummmm........I don't know why.

i don't agree.. the 2003 theme songs is very catchy and it sticks in your head. about the action i do agree, the classic one is more about the comedy than about the fighting, but realy: The 2003 TMNT is super FUNNY! so the point for comedy should olso go to the 2003 version. am I the only one who thinks the scene at 4:25 is actually kinda cruel? The guy's restrained in a barrel and Mikie just beats him while dancing around him. It looks all comical in the cartoon and all but imagine if someone in real life was trapped in a barrel while people are beating him to the point the metal dents. That's like something the movie mafia would do to traitors.
I grew up with the old cartoon watching it every morning (I'm 25 now), but I fucking did love the 2003 series as well. HELL, the movie Turtles Forever when they're combined is GREAT

I did born 1990 but I saw 2003 TMNT first. I fell in love. Then, when I was babysitting, I saw 1987 TMNT. I was "old" already, so that was kinda interesting. Humor was ok, but action scenes were too childish to me - maybe cause I was used to watch better animation.
But 1987 intro I actually like more. It's even my mobilephone's ringtone. ^^
i like that the makers of tmnt grow up with us...when we were kids tmnt was just a lot of goofyness but the newer tmnt series is waaaay more serious,its about killing,april isnt all the time in trouble,and shredder is actually tough...
I actually disagree with the theme song. The old one is catchy, but I don´t really like it. I found the new one to be pretty awesome, but my absolute favourite is Back to the Sewer.
One thing i kinda dont like the new turtles is that they are remodeled. The new ones miss the letters which represent their names on their belts and their eyes are white( no lens) i find the old turtles look much cuter. If the can keep the looks of all characters the same way they were and add more actions in the movie, it will be AWESOME!!

And they did look a little different from the earlier seasons of the show when you think about. And the new Turtles are closer to the Mirage Turtles. They never had those initialized belts on them or looked colorful with everything and they act like real Ninjas.
Well dude, I was born 87 and grew up with the cartoon turtles, but I loved how the 03 series was darker. Most likely because I liked the live action movie the most. Then I read the comics, those are the BEST! I love them! (cept when Mirage let another company write and the story got waaay outta hand.)
All the cartoons suck, except for the cgi movie from a few years ago and even then it wasn't the greatest. Pick up a copy of the old black and white mirage studios comics where they're wearing metallica kill em all shirts and the blood and heads are flying every where. They ruined tmnt when they made it for kids.

The sad part is is the new theme song may not be as memorable( didn't grow up with the older version) I have weird thing were I can actually sing the whole song as long it's playing. And this only after two or maybe three episodes.

For the action/comedy, I go both ways. As a kid, I was much more into comedic cartoons that didn't take themselves seriously. However, as I got older, I got more into the action genre and took up watching the 2003 turtles. Honestly, I feel that the arguments on the internet are stupid, because I feel as though the series should/can be watched as different "versions", I guess you could say (although very loose) of the same series, directed toward different audiences. (wow, long comment!)
I watched reruns of the original cartoon when I was a kid. Was a big fan of it. Then I watched 2003 series. And loved it as well. They both PWN, but I think, I'll give the upper hand to 2003 series. It has feel of awesome and dark 90s action cartoons, like Spider-Man TAS, X-men TAS or Batman TAS.

I grew up with both the old and the new cartoon. I first saw the old one on a foreign channel and I kept watching that. One day in 2003, I saw action figures for the new show that I never heard of. So I bought them and learned about the show on the Fox Box. IT WAS GREAT. Way better than the old one. Especially because the first episode I watched was The Shredder Strikes Part 1 and 2. I don't get why people prefer the old one (Forget Nostalgia) and Nickelodeon keeps making merchandise with them.
Why do you constantly say that "most people" like the old cartoon? Besides nostalgia, the old cartoon is shit. The new cartoon is what it should have been all along. Any TRUE fan prefers the 2003 show!
He brings up some great points, & all the points were fairly awarded. Personally, I favor the 2k3 series as it is a best balanced. The original comics are very dark, focusing on action and plot, w/ a lot of blood, & even swearing(mostly from Raph... not surprising). Ive read 6 of the original comics, & I dont remember a singe joke, but the old toon focused so much on comedy that their ninjaness hardly registers. Yet in the 2k3 series, we see both comedy & action, a combination of its ancestors.
@dekoldrick I think it has to deal with how the swords/katanas are straightforward weapons...while the nunchucks are unbalanced weapons and even during practice one can seriously hurt themselfs, that and in a couple of countries Nunchucks are banned...the place where they shot Next Mutation the Nunchucks were banned
I've seen both TMNT series & I liked both of them in their own ways. The classic one was funny & I practically know alot of Raphael's lines from it. The 2003 series had alot of action in it plaus a few funny moments here & there. They're both good. :)

While growing up in the mid 90's, I would always watch the VHS tape of the 80's series. and also growing up in the mid 2000's, I would always watch the 2k3 series all the way to 2009! Funny how that I grew up with both shows is really cool! So now you could Say I grew up with both shows and a fan of both shows! they are awesome!!!
If video games did coutn, I'd say the classic one gets the point. It did flop with the first game, damn I hat going through the city after the dam level, but the arcade game was awesome. I don't know how much time and money I wasted at Chuck-E-Cheeses, aka, Show Biz Pizza playing it.
The newer games I've never really played because by the time the series came out, I became a little too self conscious as I was in and out of highschool and just opted to watch the series on youtube, hehe.

I did born 1990 but I saw 2003 TMNT first. I fell in love. Then, when I was babysitting, I saw 1987 TMNT. I was "old" already, so that was kinda interesting. Humor was ok, but action scenes were too childish to me - maybe cause I was used to watch better animation.
But 1987 intro I actually like more. It's even my mobilephone's ringtone. ^^
However, I like both series.

i like that the makers of tmnt grow up with us...when we were kids tmnt was just a lot of goofyness but the newer tmnt series is waaaay more serious,its about killing,april isnt all the time in trouble,and shredder is actually tough...

I actually disagree with the theme song. The old one is catchy, but I don´t really like it. I found the new one to be pretty awesome, but my absolute favourite is Back to the Sewer.
But hey, thats just my opinion.

One thing i kinda dont like the new turtles is that they are remodeled. The new ones miss the letters which represent their names on their belts and their eyes are white( no lens) i find the old turtles look much cuter. If the can keep the looks of all characters the same way they were and add more actions in the movie, it will be AWESOME!!

And they did look a little different from the earlier seasons of the show when you think about. And the new Turtles are closer to the Mirage Turtles. They never had those initialized belts on them or looked colorful with everything and they act like real Ninjas.

Well dude, I was born 87 and grew up with the cartoon turtles, but I loved how the 03 series was darker. Most likely because I liked the live action movie the most. Then I read the comics, those are the BEST! I love them! (cept when Mirage let another company write and the story got waaay outta hand.)

All the cartoons suck, except for the cgi movie from a few years ago and even then it wasn't the greatest. Pick up a copy of the old black and white mirage studios comics where they're wearing metallica kill em all shirts and the blood and heads are flying every where. They ruined tmnt when they made it for kids.

The sad part is is the new theme song may not be as memorable( didn't grow up with the older version) I have weird thing were I can actually sing the whole song as long it's playing. And this only after two or maybe three episodes.

For the action/comedy, I go both ways. As a kid, I was much more into comedic cartoons that didn't take themselves seriously. However, as I got older, I got more into the action genre and took up watching the 2003 turtles. Honestly, I feel that the arguments on the internet are stupid, because I feel as though the series should/can be watched as different "versions", I guess you could say (although very loose) of the same series, directed toward different audiences. (wow, long comment!)

I watched reruns of the original cartoon when I was a kid. Was a big fan of it. Then I watched 2003 series. And loved it as well. They both PWN, but I think, I'll give the upper hand to 2003 series. It has feel of awesome and dark 90s action cartoons, like Spider-Man TAS, X-men TAS or Batman TAS.

I grew up with both the old and the new cartoon. I first saw the old one on a foreign channel and I kept watching that. One day in 2003, I saw action figures for the new show that I never heard of. So I bought them and learned about the show on the Fox Box. IT WAS GREAT. Way better than the old one. Especially because the first episode I watched was The Shredder Strikes Part 1 and 2. I don't get why people prefer the old one (Forget Nostalgia) and Nickelodeon keeps making merchandise with them.

He brings up some great points, & all the points were fairly awarded. Personally, I favor the 2k3 series as it is a best balanced. The original comics are very dark, focusing on action and plot, w/ a lot of blood, & even swearing(mostly from Raph... not surprising). Ive read 6 of the original comics, & I dont remember a singe joke, but the old toon focused so much on comedy that their ninjaness hardly registers. Yet in the 2k3 series, we see both comedy & action, a combination of its ancestors.

@dekoldrick I think it has to deal with how the swords/katanas are straightforward weapons...while the nunchucks are unbalanced weapons and even during practice one can seriously hurt themselfs, that and in a couple of countries Nunchucks are banned...the place where they shot Next Mutation the Nunchucks were banned

I've seen both TMNT series & I liked both of them in their own ways. The classic one was funny & I practically know alot of Raphael's lines from it. The 2003 series had alot of action in it plaus a few funny moments here & there. They're both good. :)

While growing up in the mid 90's, I would always watch the VHS tape of the 80's series. and also growing up in the mid 2000's, I would always watch the 2k3 series all the way to 2009! Funny how that I grew up with both shows is really cool! So now you could Say I grew up with both shows and a fan of both shows! they are awesome!!!

If video games did coutn, I'd say the classic one gets the point. It did flop with the first game, damn I hat going through the city after the dam level, but the arcade game was awesome. I don't know how much time and money I wasted at Chuck-E-Cheeses, aka, Show Biz Pizza playing it.
The newer games I've never really played because by the time the series came out, I became a little too self conscious as I was in and out of highschool and just opted to watch the series on youtube, hehe.
