  • Here again enjoying your views curious and anxious for more and more.

  • I had to call locksmith yesterday to unlock my car.

he wanted to charge me $170!!!!!!

I told him no way and go.

Then he said "what would you pay for it to open?"

what a crock....fee should have been around $50.

I end up paying $100 because I wanted to get out of there but man....from now on get price quote before having them come.....

  • i called up a locksmith. and they charged me 15.00 just for a service call.

    Are they ripping me off?

  • At that price I would just brake my fucking window.

  • Thank you!

  • I think you need to get more specific - the bogus locksmiths are Israeli, which is also ME, but you are confusing Arabs with Israelis when you use "Middle Eastern" - I would say about 100% of these bogus locksmiths are Israeli - Google "Billion Dollar Israeli Scammer Machine"

  • I'm a locksmith in Chicago and I can attest to the massive problem we have here with dishonest locksmiths. I got so sick of the negative crap that I allowed my house to be used in a sting operation by Fox News. We had all the Israeli type companies come to my home and unlock it for the reporter. I wasn't there and they never even asked for ID. They could never pick the F51 Bell knob that had only three chambers with pins so they would drill and charge for a new lock and more labor.

  • In most states like in CT you can ask to see there State license number and it should be posted on all ads they have. If they don't have one they will not call the cops and you should not hire them.

  • That old guy got over. I don't come out unless I'm getting at least $2000, and that's with my clothes ON! If he called me I would have taken everything in his house including the family dog.

  • $1700????

How on earth did he get away with that? The most I ever charge for a simple lockout for a house is $75 and that's if it's 3 in the morning and more than 5 miles away but never once have I gone over $100.

  • well i live in vegas and it is usually in the 100's and it was like 10 am and this dude said 45 dollars for getting here and 65 for using all the equipment

  • $110 at 10 am, thats one of the ones I'm talking about.

  • i locked my keys in the car and i called a locksmith. I ended up paying 110$ did i get ripped off

  • From 9 AM to 5 PM I Charge $65.00

    From 5 PM to 10 PM I Charge $75.00

From 10 PM to 12 AM I would charge $85.00

From 12 AM to 4 AM I could see myself charging $110.00 if I was really tired and it was raining, but first I would let the customer know that our price would be just $65.00 in the morning.

  • thanks

  • This is a great Video mate and some sound advice to! ;)

I'm getting a security gate fitted in the next few weeks to my front door and on friday the guy is coming to measure-up and demonstrate with a sample gate.

I will get it in writting,.if i decide to use his services to cover my own back legally! ;)

There are allot of Cowboys out there, they ain't gonna try and rip me off thats for sure! ;)

  • hey bro good work five stars

  • The senior citizens name is Ray Miller from Streamwood Il. If you watch the abc news video on the side you will see his story.

Also to be more specific as to where these are from. They are ISRAELI. If they cannot give you a complete price on the phone do not use them. There are really no legitimate National locksmith companies I am aware of. POP A LOCK is the only one I am aware of. It is a franchise that each store is owned by an individual.

  • $1700!!!!!! i'd kick the door down myself

  • Yeah, split the door frame and get hacksawing!

  • im glad you posted this.i read about this in the locksmith ledger myself.ive master keyed 15 unit buildings for less than that.these national companys are really hurting my family buisness that has been around for 58 years.they promise low prices that they never meet they do poor work and they gobble up all the cake jobs.thank god for my loyal customers if it wasnt for them the way the economy is id be job huntin.

  • How hard do you think it would be for one of those "Terrorist Locksmiths" to rip people off when their phone is ringing every 3 seconds from some 17yr old kid looking for that 1989 Camero for $100.00 that was addvertised with said "Terrorist Locksmiths" phone number in the ad.Hint Hint Hint. Please Note be responsible with this trick and only use it on the scum bags that wont give a firm price even for a lock out. This only works on local numbers. If your state isn't fixing it, fix it yourself.

  • So what your saying is post a fake ad for something almost free on craigs list with the jerks phone number in it. That seems like a pretty good Idea. Why not just free?

  • We've been working on a solution for the con's that have entered the locksmith profession,so here we go.Craigs list is FREE, and so are many other sites that are less known about that do the same thing. Now how many people would call an ad for an almost free car?, or a free HD TV to a good home, or a 3 bedroom house for $10,000.

  • I love it that your telling the truth! I look thru the yellow pages sometimes and it seems like you could just spot the fake one out without even calling them! They give locksmiths a bad rep and I hope they get dealth with accordingly!

  • Yea I know what you mean. I've been doing locksmithing for about a yrnow, and I've notice all the fake locksmiths.

I mean I live in Norfolk, VA and I looked in the phone book. There are about 50 fake company's withing only a few miles from my home.

Around here for a basic lock out which involves just opening a door on a home/company/automobile we only charge $50 for day calls and $75 for nights, and I still think thats a lot of money to charge.

  • When I filled up the tank today it cost me $90.00 the call I had just ran was $85.00.The days of $50.00 lock outs are gone, but $1700.00 for a lock out.Great Scott!!!

  • Yea $1700.00 is way to much, I'm working on reporting all the fakes around my way. They're taking to many jobs away.

Another way you can tell if the locksmith is fake is when you get called out to fix a lock that one of them destroyed opening. Most of them drill locks, when it would only take a few seconds to pick it.

  • Last night I saw on the news that a jerk charged someone $3200 for for a 15 cylinder rekey. These people must learn not to pay these fools.Like they're really going to take them to court, any judge in the country would laugh in they're face.

  • $1700?? wow. people like that should be beaten and then tortured by having their picks shoved into various orifices.

maybe the $55 my shop charges is too little. $90 during the nasty hours of the night.
