No matter what tweaks i do, what grafic settings i set in Black Ops, my FPS always around the same thing 60 to 125 on a 5850 and on Win 7. When i installed Win XP SP3 on the same system as Win 7, I would get 250fps constant on Black Ops with Win XP, i even reinstalled Win 7 thought that was the problem

ok i did what u said and it has improved it a lot! I use to get 20-50 frames ,now i am getting 30-110,

but the problem now is, after I quit the game and come back on later, the graphics and control settings keep resetting back to default. It is not saving... How can i stop it from resetting everytime i play black ops?

@legomate1 You have to tab out of the game after you have fixed your settings but do not click apply before you have made the config file "writable" again, then tab in the game and apply settings and tab out and make the config file "Read Only" and it will be so! :)

ok first off... if u dont have steam its X:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty Black Ops\Players , and X being what ever your computer names your c drive because on some computers its H:\ and others C:\, jst clearing that up for you confused people who eather downloaded or bought the game from the store :)

This config didnt work for me. I get a minimum of 20 fps to a max of 55 and its playable but just not fun. Yet I can play the single player on high with no issues at all, very smooth. Yet multiplayer fps is bad. I have a decent-good pc but the only thing letting it down is the processor.

@ThePuls3gaming Hmm, you should maybe upgrade your graphics card. Isnt the best, but you should be able to play with this config and go in options under graphics and just tune down to low/medium and AA off.

And thanks for a quick reply. Do you know if there are any additional tweaks? I tried the tweak where you reset the priorites, Steam to low and BO to real time. But Didnt make much difference.

I don't play black ops anymore because this dropping of FPS suck.. Like in MW2, I just have to change the config in seta_drawwater "0" and the estate map and the rest of the map don't lag anymore. how about Black ops? @photoxloan Hey. Did you try this config? You cant download it and replace it with the original, and then you can fix it yourself by opening it in notepad. If you check out the website in the description there is a link to geekmontage, click that. I dont know any specific configs for the map Havana.

@vik2rrr I tried it before I posted a comment on this video. well, there are some good changes, but still the dropping of FPS in Havana(in the highway) and Cracked ( in the middle of the map where you play Domination, it's the flag B) or simply by looking at that area. Have you every played MW 2 in the Estate map? there are people who have terrible loss in that map and they simply change the config and open it with a notepad which is seta_drawwater "0". this really works. I don't know about BO.

@ivansegos Did you check out the website in the description? I mean I saw a tip on how you remove the freeze.. And you should go in steam and go to file and update your video driver, defragment the game files and validate intregrity of game cache! :)

@vik2rrr i got 4.0 ghz e7600 cpu and geforce gtx460 1.5gb sonic overclocked edition gpu and i get 60 fps on high on single player ... and from 60 it drops down in the exact same spots in the game to 20 fps and lower then back up and so on ... no stable fps with a gaming pc like mine so black ops is just a waste of time wouldn`t you agree ? :P
