I've just looked at the document on her page about interfaith marriage. The document is full of holes, misinterpretations and incorrect translations. When you base a whole argument on it, well, you can't be the most truthful of people can you?
Irshad Manji has constantly said the most terrible things about Muslims on Fox News... She also claims to have interpreted the Quran, when she can't even read Arabic let alone understand it.
it was 5:25 for Irshad, not 1:30 minute and she did not answer any new answer, its seems to be like her book which I read in book store finished in half hour and found no substance. She cannot correctly pronounce even how to greet in Muslims way, forget about claiming her to know Islam. In part two the other lady who sounds Muslim barley just started and the part was finished. Can someone please upload the portion for other lady. Thanks

Problem with people is that they cannot give up their love for something for the love of God and his messenger, so they want to follow a religion that fits their personal likings but the true Islam is to follow the Prophet of Islam and his teachings. In fact there s some kind of sickness in their hearts and Allah keeps increasing t because they are distorting Islam to suit. Islam is a religion which is completed and perfected by God and there is no room to improve on it.

Islam doesn't forbid marriage outside of its faith as longas the partner accept Islam or the marriage s considered to be Mushrik marriage. No one can say that Islam is not compatible with modern world the problem with modern world is it is not compatible with Islam. There are different sect in Islam she might be one of those heretic sects.

If you sincerely read the Quran, then you would understand that when the Quran talks about war, its talking about a just war, a war with conditions and guidelines and not random acts of hate and violence. If you read the Quran while genuinely trying to then im sure you will see this too.

I want you to read this in context with the rest of the surah, or Quran in general. Like i said before, these verses are talking about a just war, a war which has understandable conditions. And if you think the entire quran talks about this then you obviously haven't read it. Please read the Quran as a whole sincerely, you'll be a witness against yourself.

Er, I agree with you that Manji is not representative of the majority of Muslims, but to say that lesbians cannot be Muslims, that's going too far. To be a Muslim, you need to believe in La IIlaha Illala, Muhammad dur rasulallah. There is no mention of heterosexuality. If some Muslims are homosexual, that is between Allah and them, and not for any of us to judge.

@listophile The Qur'an is the word of Allah. And the Qur'an is quite clear on the issue of homosexuality. Of course, all things are for Allah to judge, we as human beings are flawed, and should not judge the mistakes of others, but it is wrong to deny that they are mistakes at all.

But just like my sins are between me and Allah, and my fight against them is my own personal ongoing fight, people who struggle with homosexuality have their own battle to wage, and their ups and downs are between them and Allah. But that does not necessarily put them outside the fold of Islam. The only unforgivable sin is shirk.
@listophile Of course, struggling with homosexuality is a personal problem. Allah may forgive the person, though it is a major sin. However, claiming that there is nothing wrong with it, as this woman does, is lying about the commandments of Allah, and denying the authority of the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah, so tantamount to contradicting the shahada. Such people have not submitted themselves to the commands of Allah, but seek to make the religion submit to their whims.
@listophile Also, given that she has taken a personal problem, and been open about it, called others to submit to committing this heinous act, those who know the truth of the matter must warn against it and her. For the sake of those who might listen to her, and fall into the same trap, she must be spoken against. There is a reason that sinning openly is worse than sinning in private, for being open leads to the detriment of society.
@listophile There is no such thing as a gay Muslim my friend. Islam makes that very clear. Irshad Manji is not a Muslim because she does the exact opposite of what is required of her, to be a heterosexual. She falls under the category of a hypocrite. With that being said, I don't think any homosexual should be stoned or even flogged to death. But we must remember that Islam teaches us to stay away from lewd acts between members of the same sex, and sex in general until we get married.
