Sheer brilliance! her voice is so 'real', so natural! Begum Sahiba ki awaz aur gaane ka andaaz amar rahe.

Todays so called 'trained' bollywood singers (jokers) should listen to her and then shoot themselves in the head for making an ass of the public!

One of the finest thumris of Begum Akhtar. It is needless to say whatever she sang be it was a ghazal, a thumri and or a dadra; ir appeared that the respective melody is out of heart. There had been a large number of ghazals in Indian sub-continent, but what Saigal and Begum Akhtar sand, it was different ! They did'nt sang the words but sang the feelings immursed in the lyrics.

Being a lover of the music of 'Ammi" as Beguam Akntar wsa recognised by music lovers; it is too difficult to comment on her recitals, if it was a ghazal, a thumri and or a dadra. She (like K.L.Saigal) never sang the words but the feelings. That is why at times she used to make the listener cry!
