Germany could easily have dispatched of the English and the French remnants if they tried pulling off D-Day on their own and refocused their efforts on the Soviet Union, perhaps resupplying & reinforcing their troops to better adapt to the environment. Without America, D-Day would have failed and Germany wouldn't be divided on two fronts.
