@texan1120 Because he did *possibly* permanent damage to the guy's face, there was no doubt in ANYONE'S mind that he had already won the fight, and everyone was amazed that the A) his corner didn't throw in the towel, and B) the ref let the fight continue. There's no need to kill the guy or permanently fuck him up when the fight shouldn't be happening in the first place. He could barely defend himself. I remember watching the slug-fest between Lennox and Vitali. At one point they tripped and Lennox was on top of Vitali. Despite being a supremely confident 38 year old legend actually losing the fight.. Lennox extended his arm and helped Vitali up. Even in boxing, there's something to be said about chivalry. Boxing aside, Lennox and Pac are in a different class than Floyd. There is a saying that very few of our heroes live up to our expectations in real life. This is especially true for Floyd.
This fight was at a catchweight, NOT 154 pounds as the commentator states. I used to like Pacquiao before he became the catchweight king. I gave up on him when he made Cotto come down to 145 (as opposed to the true welterweight limit of 147). It also seems extremely arrogant of him to schedule concerts after fights. There's no need to kill the guy or permanently fuck him up when the fight shouldn't be happening in the first place. He could barely defend himself. I remember watching the slug-fest between Lennox and Vitali. At one point they tripped and Lennox was on top of Vitali. Despite being a supremely confident 38 year old legend actually losing the fight.. Lennox extended his arm and helped Vitali up. Even in boxing, there's something to be said about chivalry. Boxing aside, Lennox and Pac are in a different class than Floyd. There is a saying that very few of our heroes live up to our expectations in real life. This is especially true for Floyd.

This fight was at a catchweight, NOT 154 pounds as the commentator states. I used to like Pacquiao before he became the catchweight king. I gave up on him when he made Cotto come down to 145 (as opposed to the true welterweight limit of 147). It also seems extremely arrogant of him to schedule concerts after fights. To me, that shows a lack of respect to the opponent as well as the sport. He was once one of my favorite fighters. SMH.

In Paquaio's past 4 fights in the Pre fight Press conference Arum has mentioned Floyds name while he was speaking on the Podium without being asked. The 1st time it ended because Pacquiao REFUSED the drug tests. Bob Arum went to the Media and said "we're fine with the test" but NEVER tried renegotiating. Even when Mayweather called out Pacqauio. As soon as Floyd gave a date and location, Arum was behind closed doors trying to get Cotto to fight again.
