Great work and performance remarkable indeed but that move at 3:43 that's melodies when Mozart mood change from calm and peace to rebel and complete rage that magnificent and while the keyboard so heavy and cello which follow that move so perfectly and express the deep motion of him in a manner that genius can astonishing all creature having ears,
his works really astonish all creatures that have ears. I'm not kidding. Whenever this piece is played, my dog dances like crazy, eventually I have to turn it off... :(
There is an omission of bars 282-83 at 8:04. I guess a different version of the score was used for this production. (Baerenreiter urtext mentions something of this)
Casadesus + Szell + Cleveland + Mozart = sheer bliss! The best Mozart Concerto in the best performance ever! Many thanks for sharing it. These recordings are fetching $100+ on Amazon, as they have long been out of circulation.
The information can be found under the heading "About this video" (next to the video player, blue square, top right corner).
Trivia: Did you know that Casadesus' uncles, Marius and Henri, were period instrument practitioners and that one of them (I'm actually not sure which one) composed a violin concerto (the Adélaïde concerto) and tried to pass it off as a long lost work by Mozart - and apparently succeeded in doing so. At least for a while.
I haven't heard the Adélaïde, but I can imagine it to be quite interesting from a historical point of view, a kind of snapshot of early 20th century perceptions of classical style. Actually it would be a fun idea to bring some of these pieces together on a cd. Perhaps a job for Hyperion?
Btw, what's yor source? The information I have concerning the Adélaïde is scant and confusing. Some say Henri, som Marius.

It was Henri. He also wrote viola concertos in the styles of Handel and JC Bach.
