  • Notice the clothesline Phil Villapiano laid on O.J. at 0:51. In 1972, no flag was thrown, both men stayed in the game, and that was that. In 2012, Villapiano would get flagged for unnecessary roughness, kicked out of the game, and fined at least $25,000; O.J. would be benched for "precautionary reasons" because there's a 1% chance he suffered a concussion.

  • Thanks for posting. Noticed that back then, the Raiders laid the field out (from a baseball perspective) from center field to home plate. Nowadays it's laid out from left field to right field (right field lower level = "The Black Hole").

  • @RobDog65 Actually, it was only laid out like that until baseball season was over (which, in 1972, meant after the World Series). Afterwards, they laid it out from left field to right field.

  • @darrinbaker00 Thats right. As a matter of fact, I remember my uncle was really pissed one time, because he thought he was getting 50 yard line seats. Thinking the field was in it's normal configuration. Only to discover he just bought himself a nifty endzone seat. LOL! What is even MORE sad, is that people tried to warn him not to get those particular seats. But since they were all women, he never listened. Served his sexist ass right LOL!!

  • Thank you so very much for posting this.

My childhood hero was Daryle Lamonica.

  • Clarence Davis was a ferocious blocker as well.
