I'd hate to actually be reasonable here...but every company is awesome in their own right.

It's just that Capcom has more fans. More fans equal more cool fighting bros, and in turn more idiotic droning fanboys.

SNK and many other non-Capcom fighters have a smaller bell chart of fans, and thus they have a much more reasonable and sporty fanbase.

I know this comment will be ignored as people hate the voice of reason. They want single sentences telling them why their game is awesome.

Your comment only applies for the US scene. Tekken is extremely popular in japan, while king of fighters is really popular in south america and china. The reason SNK bit into it's dust isn't because they lacked fans, it's because their last good game was (arguably) kof2002.

Iori is my number one favorite from King of Fighters (then Kyo, K' and Ash), but for his KoFXII incarnation, I was really disappointed. They took his flames! T_T That's like a cobra with no venom. His new moves are cool though and the way he finishes off the Ya Otome (Eight Maidens) is pretty awesome. But still, NO FLAMES!! Well, hopefully he'll get them back in KoFXIII

One of my friends said the best way to sum up the new Iori was: he's a lot like Freeman in Mark of the Wolves.

I would say it was a "letdown" more than a disappointment. I bet the reasons people give are:

1. roster

2. Iori

and nothing else. Iori's cool and all, but people go completely batshit crazy over him it's ridiculous. The lag for competitive play earlier on, I could understand. Playing against a friend in this game's fun. Plus, you don't rely on DMs as much.
