Ok everyone needs to take a lesson in business. Google has just made a major investment and if they put advertisements on youtube videos it simply wont be sucessful which is the last thing google wants to do since they just spent 1.6 billion. Also before youtube was bought by google they were in big trouble. Alot of companies were claming copyright against youtube and if google didnt make the purchase then youtube wouldnt exist today. So thanks google for keeping youtube alive.

Notice that there are google ads in the top. They're text based, non-intrusive like the fastclick's smiley banners that shout "SAY SOMETHING" every time you load a page and generally they are not annoying.

It's not technically possible, or feasible, to develop a code which would extract single words from videos so that it would work as well as the AdWords concept requires. As a developer I know this.

I agree with Tripmedia. You don't see a Google ad popping up everywhere when you search, so why would it suddeny do it now? Google is about contextual and discreet advertising, not bombing it down your throat.

Vey amusing, for sure. But I think you're being a lil pessimistic... if it really was going to be an ad every few seconds like that, it would be so irritating that 60% of the community would leave & they'd actually lose money from all the people that had abandoned the site. A few low-key ads in the background maybe, but I hardly think they're so stupid as to flash up spam while a video is playing. We'll just have to wait and see, eh?
