@mrcraigjunior common mistake. Digimon was RELEASED in the US after pokemon, cause it's a bit darker and pokemon is more 'Child Friendly' but in japan, Digimon was MADE before pokemon. Though i don't think the dates were very different, a year or so i think. Long before the anime, 'Digimon' was just a digital pet, there were keychains and what not, but then they created the Digimon anime.
