Brook Taw! I bought one last month and its a revelation. The best guitar i own (i own 10), & by no means the most expensive. So soulful, beautifully voiced & unbelievably easy to play. I tried it alongside Taylors, Martins and Lowdens that were half as much again, & it still stood out by a country mile. I can't recommend Brook, & the Taw in particular, highly enough. I tried a Brook Tamar at the same time- it would have been my 2nd choice, but the Taw had something 'extra', in my humble option.
And don't forget- a Brook is a handmade guitar, built by 2 lovely chaps (Simon/Andy) whom you can meet, talk to, & commission your own instrument from (you can even choose the wood cuts!) whereas Martins/Taylors are effectively posh factory guitars. Not knocking the big boys' instruments, but the difference in the feel & expressiveness of a Brook is really palpable- you can really feel the individual's love & care that's gone into these instruments. They have soul- and that is priceless stuff!
I know what you mean about easy, I struggled with a Gibson J45 for years, then I bought a beautiful little Brook Lynn 12 fret model and it opened a whole new door for me, so easy and responsive to play with amazing volume for such a light guitar.
Is the Lynn a parlour guitar? It sounds really cool, as are most Brook products. I am currently learning some Bach on my classical and then I plan to see what it sounds like on the Taw. Do you have any stuff on this site?
No, it`s one from the Clyst (large parlour) in size,I have nothing on You Tube, but have just taken delivery of a 12 string Creedy also. I was a bit aprehensive about ordering a 12 string from Brook as I`ve found them a bit cumbersome in the past, but it`s an absolute joy to play with great volume and an action that would put most electric guitars to shame. I`ve now ordered a small 4 string tenor guitar from them. I can`t wait!
Hi, i love the playing and the guitar. Could you tell me what the woods have been used on it. Thanks.

Hi there,
Is the Lynn a parlour guitar? It sounds really cool, as are most Brook products. I am currently learning some Bach on my classical and then I plan to see what it sounds like on the Taw. Do you have any stuff on this site?

Thanks for your kind comments. Do you have a tab for the Bach piece? I am learning it and my tab misses some of the very subtle base lines.
