Congrats on writing your book. To Shriekspear, you've heard correct when you were told PublishAmerica is a scam. You will not get royalties, unless you sell a lot of books to your own friends and family. Even then, you might make ten dollars at the most. You'd be better off self-publishing or trying the more difficult route of trying to get a literary agent or send your manuscript to a small press that doesn't require an agent.
Congrats, I am at the process of getting mine published. They said it could be 9 months but if I payed 300 dollars then it can be quicker. I see people say its a scam place. I see people say that it takes patience and that the publish America site is very helpful. I know they called me because I did not respond to my book cover fast enougn so they asked me if it was what I wanted and said yes, So they did call me I thought that was cool because it made me feel like it was more legit
