  • Beautiful! Greatness!. Rosolino was unique and one hell of a trombone player. He also sang pretty well. Herbolzheimer has always been one of the GREATEST composer/arrangers around.

  • Caught him at the Lighthouse during the 60's. He was phenomenal. He had a dark side that many did not know. One of sons was killed outright. The other survived but with organic brain damage. Heard him interviewed and he had lost much of his memory and sense of self. Difficulttocomprehend and I'm saddened everytime I hear him play

  • May I second Sir Tyler's comments below! Frank's playing gives me the same chills and energy it did almost forty years ago when I first heard him on record. Sadly I never heard him in person, but youtube is sure helping, as with so many fallen greats of the music!

  • We know about this tragedy. Those of us who knew him and saw/heard him play still cannot fathom this. He was an incredible, one-of-a-kind artist and the contributions he made to the artistry of the jazz trombone are immeasurable, no matter his end in this world.

  • this guy killed himself and his kids

  • Great trombone solo and Big Band Arrangement! Could you please inform on which CD is this recording published?

    Many thanks.
