  • i love how this guy says don't rotate your hips when studies say that 80% of velocity comes from you ability to separate your back hip from you throwing arm shoulder. classic and retarded

  • Batting practice

  • I see that most of the commentary is regarding velocity. Just an observation: if velocity were that critical, wouldn't knuckleballers fail to make the major leagues? In terms of pitching, wouldn't control and command be more valued than just raw velocity? Dr.Marshall may be sacrificing velocity for better mechanics which may lead to increased longevity, is that a bad thing. As for mechanics, look at the old windup pitchers from the early 20's, is it any prettier?

  • Interesting...

  • I don't even know where to begin with the comments on this video, so I'll try to keep things brief:

    1. More speed does not equal less movement. More speed equals sharper movement. Short, sharp movement > slow, large movement

    2. Every one of the batters in this video look like dogshit. The first looks to be a 40 year old beer league softball player.

    3. "doing well in D2" can mean a lot of things. There are some really good D2 conferences, and then there are some really shitty ones.

  • need to finsh your arm but you may do it now. this was three years ago..

  • how hideous is that?

  • those hitters don't look very good

  • Follow through is short needs to stride out farther which would give him a little more velocity on his fastball and later movement on the breaking balls.Being left handed always helps. He also needs to focus on striding towards the plate as on some pitches he opens up early letting you know he is throwing a breaking ball the motion must stay the same for every pitch I like the arm motion he will not have any elbow problems but needs to keep the front shoulder closed longer.

  • I don't understand why people have to be so mean with their comments. I grew up at the baseball field while my brother played baseball he went to the little league world series and also D1 on a scholarship to Penn State. You all work very hard to get where you are today, I commend you on all the hard work you do......keep it up! Thank you for coming to a clinic held in my hometown and teaching my 9 year old son the basics of pitching.

  • #22 ?? Hehe That ma number too :p

  • at @1:55 that was a balk, he didnt come to a complete stop, he just put his ball in the glove then pitched the ball

  • @irtubboftw Just goes to show you how incompetent some umpires are.

  • Im not saying that the machinics are wronge. if your not getting hurt thats great. the thing is it just looks goofy. i dont se any power being driven from your back or your legs. this style looks compleatly arm driven.

  • @angelo234987 Thanks for the intelligent comment. This pitcher has 6 quality pitches. He has 2 years under his belt since this video was made. He is very competitive in D2 ball. The next 2 years will tell alot. Good luck to you!

  • I see all of these comments on the pitcher losing MPH's on his fastball by this style of pitching. Don't forget, higher speed = less movement.

I have only two issues with it - the stretch. It might not be wrong, but it sure looks different. Doesn't that complicate pick-off moves? And the after-pitch position. I do not know if the style teaches that sort of fall of the mound, but anything up the middle is a very tough play for him after he delivers.

  • How many pitchers residing from Mike's system have played any type of professional baseball?

  • @Aaerios

I don't know an exact number but probably around 5 that directly went and played.

  • But this does not include the guys that were already in professional baseball that he helped rehab.

  • @Aaerios I know, this is the most ridiculous insane thing i have ever seen. Yeah you have a couple inches of break but most little leaugers throw harder. Not only that but you can get the same movement doing it the right way while increasing velocity. Not a single pitcher in the major leauges throws this crazy!

  • Does it matter? Nothing I did in college including my national gold glove is going to make this kid's mechanics any better.

  • Sounds like you`re a real talented BB player. Why are you so worried about this guy. He`s doing well in College, and has a realistic attitude about his future. Sorry to offend you. Just let me know where you are playing, or where you played. With a National "Gold Glove" to your credit u must have outstanding stats. Or do you??

  • Dartmouth, Harvard, Trinity, Tufts, Holy Cross, Williams, Amherst, Umass

  • So where did you go?

  • this video is a joke. as someone mentioned down at the bottom, any pitcher gets a couple strikeouts and good pitches during the season and as long as you video tape every game u can make a cute little video like this. and im sure you're going to reply, why don't i upload my own videos. I'll answer it before you ask, i didn't need to make a video to send to a coach to get recruited. that's what happens with good recruits. coach's hear about them and they go see you.

  • @td0gg33 Wow well said. I have never thought about any of this before. Thanks for bringing all this to my attention.

  • u dont actually care about anything i just said since this kid just got dropped from the springfield team.

  • Who recruited you? Good luck with your baseball!

  • maybe u should try using ur whole body not just ur arm, and horrible fielding position

  • Yea if he keeps on he wont be in the bigs for very long xD plus work on ur macanichs cuz ur supposed to finish with ur throwing arm inront of ur knee man

  • his movement is incredible but im concerned about his velo... whats his fastball and whatever else this boy throws

  • Looks a little like mid to upper 70's

  • might be the worst mechanics ive ever seen

  • The key word is "might". So you aren`t really sure?

  • Go get 'em Cuz. ;)

  • Finally a positive message! Hope you had a Blessed Christmas, and wishes for a great New Year!!!!

  • Looking at first hitters' swing mechanics, I'd venture to say that I, too, could make him look this bad.

As for the rest, I just don't get it: Can't we make a 2-minute compilation of virtually ANY high school pitcher striking out some hitters with some nice off-speed pitches?

There are coaches throughout the land who tout their pitching mechanics style, and back it up with (x) number of years without a pitcher getting hurt. THOSE guys send pitchers to the pros. Mike doesn't seem to.

  • Sure anyone can post a video. Post your own, and let us know where can watch it. Really looking forward to it!

  • Ok you win.

I don't need to bang my head off a wall to know it hurts. Good luck in your pursuit of velocity, whoever your trying to help.

  • Good luck to you. Remember it`s just baseball! Play for as long as you can cause some day you`ll be old and only have the memories.

  • Oh and now lets look at your latest open and honest debate strategy.

You deviate to Marshall and then state as you final shot that I know nothing great finish.

So I guess your taking your ball and going home.

Unless you want answer my question.

  • Debate Dr. Marshall! That`s all I`m saying. Be a man and write to him!

  • Let`s not deviate to the MAN whos` philosophies you are challenging. What a dirty debating trick!

  • Continued

When my baseball pitchers use these four powerful hip/shoulder rotational muscles, they not only do not suffer injuries to their Oblique Internus Abdominis muscle, but they also rotate at considerably higher velocities.

Problem is, this has been debunked as vodoo science by AMSI

THATS WHY HIS GUYS DONT THROW AT MLB VELOCITY.

Where are they? on his site he has video of one guy the same video as here.

  • This is Marshall's own description of how his pitchers rotate

With my hip/shoulder together forward rotation technique, in addition to the Oblique Internus Abdominis muscle, my baseball pitchers use the Oblique Externus Abdominis, Transverse Abdominis and the Quadratus Lumborum muscles. These are the four muscles that attach to the triad of hip bones and the rib cage that rotate the shoulders relative to the hip.

  • Your killing me

Its obvious Who is doing the double speak. In one post you state how your truck driving has made you understand the value of going straight ahead implying rotational movement is wasted energy because it deviates from direct energy towards home. I assume that's what you mean right, keep all energy moving in as direct a line as possible. This obviously a truth I am not arguing that.

Problem is, the human body was designed a certain way. Oh and Fyi go read Marshall own statements

  • Let me know when you can show me the math that says

Something with the same mass and acceleration can be more effective or efficient and yet produce less energy?

Because that is what your saying when you say the 80 mph fastball is more energy efficient than the 90 mph fastball.

    Crazy

  • Write to Dr. Marshall. Are you saying that his pitchers do not use their hips, torso, and arm?

  • Who is the pitcher that throws 90, and who is the pitcher that throws 80? It`s obvious you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • Ok open and honest.

Newtons law is not being used correctly. Force has to be applied top the ball by the body. That includes the hips, torso and arm. A rotational engine ( me ) transfers the energy to the ball better than the linear model Marshall's guys use.

Just do the math if your guy throws 80 and my guy throws 90 with all else equal who is creating more energy? or losing it as the case may be.

Do the math plug in the numbers and its a no brainer.

How can you not get this?

  • You science/math guys are so out to lunch on this.

Did you ever think about the possibility your math was wrong?

You keep using newtons law as your validation for this delivery.

    Can I ask.

if I could prove you wrong with your own arguments concerning velocity would you admit it?

  • May I ask what your credentials are? Please contact "Mechanical Engineering" publication and suggest that you would like to challenge the article published in the April, 2009 issue written by Steven J. Kerno, Jr. (You have read the article, I'm sure.) Please feel free to contact Dr. Mike Marshall on his Question and Answer website. Dr. Marshall has been waiting years for an intelligent, open and honest debate about his pitching motion. Thank you so much.

  • Thanks for replying on my personal email. Let`s keep all correspondence on this sight please.(open and honest debate.) Being a truckdriver I know that I will get to my destination faster by staying on the Interstate hwy rather than going on the Business Route. I believe that Newtons law basically says the fastest way to one point is a straight line. If you don`t want to write a whole magazine article just write a letter to the editor. YOU CAN EVEN PUT YOUR MATHETICAL EQUATION ON THIS POST.

  • Sorry. MATHEMATICAL

  • wtf it looks like the pitchers mound is 10 feet away from home plate

  • Comment removed

  • i think his shoulders are rotating before his hips are thats not good enjoy surgery kid

  • looks like a lefty tommy hanson

  • how do you throw a pickoff move with that style. it may work for lefties but no righty could ever pitch like that. plus your losing a good 5-10 on velocity and the constant strain that occurs on the elbow will make it the same chance of having an injury if not more.

  • exactly!!! there are very few clips of this kid with runners on and hes not even holding them on....I've seen Dr. Marshall pitch and he didn't use a motion comparable to that...

  • i dont really like this pitching style it looks like all arm which is why he wont be able to last and he better hope a line drive isnt ripped back at him because he is never ready to feild his position hes always facing side ways

  • Looks are deceiving! His upright position gives him the advantage of rotational drive while driving the ball much more efficient than decelerated rotation from traditional deliveries, his knees need to straighten more and not lengthen as much to perform these mechanics more correctly, using the Crow-step method ensures he will use his legs the way they are built. He gets much greater use of forward momentum than traditional because of this! His speed is already tops for his age group.

  • hes good you guys need to shut up he has like 20 ks in this video

  • u will never throw to 95 miles

but ur movmvent of breaking ball is good

if u change ur pitching merchanics

    u will improve ur speed

and definitely will increase mroe of the movement of the good breaking ball now

  • u will never learn to spell

  • Comment removed

  • what is this, a 48 foot mound?

  • no, its 60 feet 6 inches.

  • wait so can you throw more pitches in a game than normal?

  • There is no thing as pitch counts with this throwing technique. If for some reason you are well over 100 pitches in a game with this technique you should not have to worry about breaking down and injuring yourself.

  • thats kinda dumb to say...no technique is injury proof. this "momentum" pitching is a new technique therefor no reported injurys

  • he is not using the body to pitch

that is why the arm's will take more responsiblilty which menas more weight which may result mroe change of injury

  • Read the description and do some more research genius.

  • do what research? and what about description? this method isnt fullproof and ill be amazed if he ever breaks 90 with it. you think because of that momentum theres no stress on arm, but in reality the momentum and extreme push off the rubber is actually putting stress on the arm with the way hes rotating

  • and you look stupid

  • those mechanics look like they would hurt your arm way more than just normal mechanics

  • No they do not hurt your arm...

  • hahahahaha

  • Good luck Mike (the pitcher, not Marshall)

  • fastball95 is Dr Mike Marshall. The inventor of this unorthidox pitching method. However effective.

  • he has gotta be Mike Marshall. I dont know for sure but with an attitude like his its gotta be Marshall.

  • wrong again. I train with him. You must be the guy who caught all the other guys in Colorado a few summers ago. They told me about you. By the way, have you ever met Marshall in person? I didnt think so.

  • nah talked to him in letters. Marshall is very stuck in his ways. I dont need to meet him to know this.

  • Ya, I already knew you never met him. I did get a kick out of your letter a few summers back trying to take credit for those guy's success. They all told me that you were a joke as a hitter and catcher, but since Ive never met you, I'll reserve judgment. He's stuck in his ways cuz he's right.

  • Its ok. You prove my point about Marshall right there. By the way the letter that was sent to Marshall was sent in good faith and I did not take credit for anything. I said that the guys should throw to a catcher during there training and offered to pay to go out there and catch them for free seeing as the only thing that changed with the training while on the team was that they had a catcher and a batter. Reguardless of my talent I believe that this was a good gesture.

  • Regardless of your gesture, youre an idiot as well.

  • wrong.

  • I saw Dr. Mike talk about this yesterday on MLB network. I wonder how fast a ball can been thrown this way.

  • 90mph tops as far as i know. Thats the fastest pitcher i have caught that throws like this.

  • Actually one of my buddies has thrown 96 this way.

  • Prove this. I really dont belive one of your buddys throws 96 like this, what affiliated team does he play for.

  • If you still talk to any of the guys from your summer team a few summers ago, ask them. I know Pat Howe is still in Colorado somewhere doing nothing. Ask him about Dan Robinson. Dan doesnt play ball anymore though.

  • Dr. Marshall does not have his pitchers throw to a catcher during training at all. He has them throw to a tarp. You know this. If these two posts do not clarify what you wrongly interpreted as me taking credit than I have nothing more to say.

  • I read the letter, and I read the letter your father sent as well. I sure hope you have nothing more to say considering youre an idiot. And its not a tarp, its a net.

  • its has nothing to do with how many ppl he is striking out.

He isn't throwing with his shoulders-he is throwing with his back and triceps to lower arm injury.

Thats what the video is trying to show you. so relax.

  • dat first kid dat got strikeout is scared of da ball cuz he moves his front leg 2 da side n he suppose 2 move it front so he can have more power on da ball.....also dat kid doesnt even throw dat hard so take your time at da plate...make him throw pitches 2 get him tired

  • Where did you learn how to type???

  • just a slowball junkie...nothing special

  • This guy sucks. His fast ball is mid to low 70's and his curveball is a piece of shit. If you want to see baseball watch me, at Butte College. go to spinco stats and check it out. ERA 0.00

  • Are you a human radar gun? Great way to promote yourself, say someone else sucks and then tell people to watch you. Looks like someone is jealous. Why dont you post a youtube video of yourself throwing and we can judge how good you are.

  • yeah man, everyone talks shit one here about how they r the man and can strike everyone out, yet they just remain a mystery, post a vid and show us how u r, u can look at mine if u think im a hypocrit

  • I dont think youre a hypocrite, thats how you spell it by the way. I just think you arent worth my time. You are 18 and think you know stuff, you dont. You can learn though. By the way, I have video's of myself all over youtube. You just have to look.

  • dude, all u do is trash people, yet know one knows your name, where you play for, your speeds, your acheivements, none of this. all u do is run your mouth how this retarded ass way to try and throw a ball is better than any other persons way. names like; paul reddick, john hizinga, and ron wolfworth all are the same people and same orginization as Fletch...all big time names, so stfu, sit down, and learn something

  • I just tell it like it is. Im sorry if you cant deal with that. I think its hilarious you think reddick, wolkworth, and whoever are big names, LOL. Anyone of those guys ever play pro ball, how about win a Cy Young, or earn a PhD in exercise phys? Didnt think so.

  • ummm fletch coached college and is..well was cuz he passed away...training the white sox pitchers. he also played for the montreal expos and yankees orginizations back a ways. reddick trains pro athletes, and wolfworth is known for producing the most pro pitchers of this time and age

  • He worked at the white sox training centers, he didnt train the white sox. I also used to work at the academy when I was in college. And I played against the schools he coached at and we beat the shit out of them regularly. I know who reddick is, and he's mostly clueless, he has no credentials, and wolforth saw Marshalls stuff at his place last year and was amazed. He also has no credentials to train pitchers. His stuff is not specific and its pretty worthless.

  • Hmmm, lets see. Traines kids, played minor league ball, trains "pro athletes" knkown for producing the most pro pitchers vs someone with a PhD in exercise physiology and a Cy Young award who used his ideas to win that award. Ya, Id say Dr. Marshall wins that one hands down. Marshall was just on the MLB network. Has fletch, reddick, or wolworth been contacted by them to go on tv??? Didnt think so. Until then, maybe you should keep your mouth shut.

  • al u say is PhD this PhD that...ummm just cuz u have a degree in something means ur good at it. doesnt mean he can go out and throw well, yes he wn a Cy Young,,,cograts. what have u done??? this isnt about him being good,,,its about u dude,,,and so far, u showed me nothing to prove YOU are a good pitcher by throwing the way one man says is good...and by the way, did this guy throw with the wrong foot and win the Cy Young??

  • Well I was an All-American in college, got drafted and pitched well enough to make my leagues all-star team my first year. I hurt my shoulder after that and discovered Marshall and have been doing his stuff ever since.

  • what college? and gimmie a year

  • Saint Xavier University 2003 HM All-American DH. 2004 HM All-American Pitcher. Had a one point something ERA, drafted 17th round by the NY Mets. 2004 All-Star in the NY Penn League. 4th in the league with an ERA of 2.28. Is that good enough for ya?

  • HM = Honorable mention

    u said all-american

and if u really were all this, u didnt pitch like this goofy ass way, u pitched the right way

  • I did throw traditional. And I had success, but I got hurt. Im much better now, with far nastier stuff. If this way to pitch really didnt work do you really think Id be doing it??????????????????????? You really are a fucking idiot kid.

  • callin people names works great... Say which major league team do you currently play for...

  • oh i know, this guy just insults others and has nothing to say, so he just says ur wrong im right, lmao

  • I just call it as I see it. Youre wrong for the science. If you want me to explain it all again for you, just let me know. I have no problem doing that. That goes for the genius catcher Tyler as well.

  • I have two teams, one from the NL Central, and one from the NL East talking about bringing me in. But as of right now, Im not playing for anyone. I am training for Naval Special Warfare.

  • yeah,,u did good throwing the RIGHT way, now what do u have to show for this CRAP way of throwing?

  • Crap? haha. If only you knew the truth. What do I have to show? Well lets see, a far better curveball than I had before. I can also throw a sinker and screwball now, also a slider, and a fastball that moves to both sides of home plate. I throw just as hard as I did before, and I'll be throwing harder.

  • and the video proof of this would be found.... where again?

  • Come on down to FL anytime you like and you can step in the box when I throw if you like.

  • or with all this training in the morning and free time in the afternoon, u could fil a bullpen that you throw 100 pitches in, put that up, and then when people talk bout u throwin and shit, they got some real stuff to look at, not 5 pitches, then a bunch of workout videos

  • Hopefully you throw him more strikes then you threw to Harold Reynolds the other night..... :)

  • Lol. Well I'll try to use real baseballs instead of whiffle balls like to Harold. I didnt want to hurt they guy. lol

  • We dont throw with the wrong foot in games, we just rotate farther and our pitching foot comes through.

  • who cares bout PhD. lemme see some video of this Marshall dude,,,where is his website or whatever....where all u guys at in the country,,east side west side, north south?

  • Ive said who I am plenty of times on my videos and other videos around. Instead of being lazy, how about you go find it for yourself. But if you are too lazy to do that, let me know, I have nothing to hide. I'll tell you who I am and what Ive done, no prob.

  • Fastball95, haven't you ripped a chickens head off before? That is another thing on your resume along with professional baseball time under your belt. Two things that not many men accomplish in their lifetime.

  • Guilty as charged pronatee22. Lol

  • I can personally attest to this. Marshall's pitchers can throw better curveballs, screwballs, sliders etc. than any pitchers of their class. This pitcher throws great curveballs and these clips show their ability to throw offspeed pitches. One batter even said "These pitchers throw so weird, they hide the ball great". We were made fun of quite a bit till the batters actually had to face these guys.

  • Whos that STUDLY catcher of yours!!!

  • The curveball at 0:33 is devastating. The Marshall guys get some incredible movement on their pitches.

  • Send this to the Mariners. We need help!!! The decisions by deal makers has decimated this team in the last few years. Dickey was dealt. A mistake, I think. You seem to get K's. Works for me. Hope you are the real thing. Work hard...Good Luck!

  • you should work on your defence position

  • cmoney ur wrong, so shut ur mouth dumbfuck.

  • All I can say is you made those batters look stupid. Don't let up for a minute! And remember to breath in, breath out!

  • i thought you were retarded at first hah but it cool

  • This is coming from someone who has played professional ball, and has trained with some of the best pitchers in the MLB...

    1. There is no such thing as an "injury-free" delivery. The shoulder is not designed to take on such a violent deceleration, at any overhead angle.

    2. These are possibly the most awful mechanics ever. At first, I was looking at his AMSI video thinking, "He must be throwing with his off hand as a joke."

  • No, you are absolutely right, he was throwing with his off hand because he blew out his good shoulder while throwing.

Gosh, I bet he wishes that he would have had your 'professional' knowledge on the shoulder before he even picked up a baseball and blew it out the first time around.

  • What a goof!!! Well I played professional baseball so I must definately know what Im talking about. Hey, mattvorwald, could you be more full of yourself? You are ignorant beyond belief. Go to college, and study kinesiology and then in four years come back. Clueless!!!!!!!! What a moron!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fastbal you have proven over and over that you have no idea what you are talking about. I dont care if you are Nolan Ryan. You are clueless, who ever said being a pro players makes you know what you are talking about? I have seen plenty of PRO players try and teach what they do and they have no idea what they are saying.

  • Do you know what sarcasm is gameth??? Let me give you an example, like if I said, wow gameth really knows what he is talking about, that would be sarcasm. Idiot!! Get a PhD in something science related then get back to me.

  • Comment removed

  • you stuff could be better with a different windeup, ur fastball would be faster,

  • NO, because you won't apply as much force because you don't drive the baseball over as far a distance

  • Tim Lincecum gets in Sports Illustrated, and suddenly everyone's a champion of his style. LOL. Kerry Wood or Liriano had just as much reason to claim they had "the answer." Time will tell.

  • weird delivery

  • this guy got sum crazy s**t i hope i get to c u in the mlb good luck

  • well the one thing that im going to change so i dont get injured with the same mechanics is try momentum pitching like lincecum and scherzer. and by no means am i trying to make fun of this style, it looks like the pitches are nasty. But why do i need to build strength, cuz it has nothing to do with pitching at all. it all has to do with a long stride and using all ur elastic engery that you can get. im pretty sure lincecum isnt strong and he is one of the hardest throwing pitchers out there.

  • I am glad to hear that you are going to try something different. I wish you the best. What I mean by building strength is different than you might think. I am not talking about building muscles for size or bulk. Training with the weights the way we do strengthen the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and strengthens bone density all in which will help prevent your arm from getting injured.

  • Thats great that some doctor found out how not to get injured.. i had shoulder surgery 2 months ago from pitching, but i will still never go to this kind of pitching.. The second i show up to college i will get booted off the team, so until this ever gets taken up i will pitch in a way i know i will throw hard and look decent at what i do.. why pitch this way if no pro team will even look at you, its a waste of time

  • Throwing your hardest every day injury free, learning high quality pitches, throwing 30 pound wrist weights, 15 pound iron ball to gain strength, pushing yourself to be the most highly skilled athlete you can be is a waste of time?

I understand how your thought process about getting rejected, but if you just had surgery, how what are you going to do different the next time you throw, won't you just re-injure your arm?

  • At least consider Marshall's arm action, put in a leg kick, you might sacrifice some speed along with you will have a hard time throwing the pitches that move away from your throwing arm side. You will be less prone to injury this way and you will look normal. Maybe I should consider this myself so I look normal, I mean cause we all want to be normal in this world.

  • i have learned marshall's pitches and techniques for 8 years and mastered the screwball slider and 12-6 curveball with pronation the pitches are untouchable...the on prob is you wont make it to the MLB with these amazing pitches in order to make it you need to throw 90+ along with these pitches...i added the lincecum stride to everything and it clearly works u gain maybe 6-8 mph on your fastball and more spin on your off spead combine both techniques and you result in sucess

  • Seems like the only dislike is that there is no leg kick, anyways, the screwball is a fun pitch once mastered.

  • People can talk about injury prevention and quality movement all they want. But what people seem to miss in the Doc Marshall vs. Conventional Mechanics debate, is that pitching itself is an art. It is a performance, a venue of entertainment. Call me close-minded or old-fashioned, but that is a perversion of pitching craft. Casting aside Marshall's caustic personality, the reason his theories will never be taken seriously is because the mechanics involved are NOT aesthetically appealing.

  • Would your opinion on Dr. Marshall's motion change if he taught a leg kick?

  • Mike

Thanks for posting this video. I was at Dr M's certification last year. My 9 yr old son was happy to see the motion in real game situations. Keep up the great work. Do you have any other video?

  • THis in not what marshall preaches. This kid is throwing and striding with his glove hand leg. (Traditional)

  • pronate, pronate, pronate...lol, dont field your position and when you stride, our runners can get a running start...GL throwing someone out on a curveball or screwball, your catcher has virtually no shot...GREAT PROGRAM DOC!!!

  • Jealous, jealous, jealous. You have not a clue.

  • ur so rite bro

  • Hey Mike my brother Steve would like your email address.

  • pitching is not an art, it is a science, just like everything that happens in the universe is science. Pitching is NOT about aestheically apealing looks pitching by the way. Its about getting the most amount of outs without giving up runs genius. Maybe you need to think about that.

  • LAUGHING OUT LOUD!! I'm sorry but the guy's abnormal pitching motion made me fall out my chair laughing...but hey, whatever works for the dude lmao.

  • Thanks for the comment. I hope you didn't hurt yourself in the midst of falling out of your chair.

  • No comment lol

well I am going to give a comment and it's going to be this. That motion can protect injury but at the cost of mph. You do not get enough elastic energy or separation in hips to throw hard.

I've leanred my motion from Chris Lincecum and he taught his son to throw 100 with not a sore arm ever. That motion is a waste of time IMO. there are far better ways to pitch then throwing all arm.

  • Who says that he is throwing with all arm? It looks like to me that he has legs that are stepping forward. IMO

    Thanks though.

  • sorry bought the grammer I'm in a hurry somewhat and don't really care.

stepping to home doesn't mean you gain leverage of the legs and hips. he muscles up on ball and his arm is not loose like lincecum or other pitchers.

  • Does Lincecum teach you how to throw a ball using your triceps, teres major, and lattisimus dorsi?

  • The forearms and triceps are what are used in the lincecum motion to throw the ball.

With the Dr.Marshall mechanics you use to much arm and not enough body and explosiveness.

    How hard do you throw?

  • What specific muscles in the forearm? How do you use the tricep? What about the teres major and lattisimus dorsi? This motion is explosive, the arm throws the ball, the rest of the body is along for the ride. Where is your pitching foot when you release the ball? How far away is it from the rubber? Only a couple of inches. With this motion the foot is clearly far away from the rubber. How can he accomplish this without using his legs? He uses his hip and quads to drive his whole body through.

  • You are right your motion uses mostly arm and the body does none of the work.

Tims body does the work while the arm is along for the ride.

I'm pretty sure the muscle that pronates the arm and extends the tricept are the important muscles. Pronator teres and all the muscles you listed.
