I am a Sears Auto Center manager and every day I wish I could place a giant wall up in home appliances so that the store would only house our Auto Center the Home appliance and craftsman tool sections of the store..... As it stands now they worry way to much about the fine jewelry that never sells and the old woman clothes in the front of the store. While the Auto center and the other hardlines divisions are the ones who make the real money.
Sears stores are usually dumpy, irrelevant affairs taking up commercial space in fashionable shopping centers. There is no one segment that Sears occupies that a competitor isn't performing better in. Better apparel can be found at JCPenney, Khols, Target and even Old Navy. Best Buy, Wal-Mart and local chains usually have better deals on appliances and electronics. Lawn and garden equipment can be had at Home Depot and Lowe's.
um, im not sure if you know this or not but Lands End is HUGE over seas...
When working for sears we would get people from places like the UK buying as much Lands End stuff they could fit in a suit case, no joke. Why? because it's cheaper here than where they come from and so they load up when visiting the US so buying Lands End may not be great on the US side, but they make a TON off shore
What you failed to mention in this report is that WalMart sells crap. Sears at least had higher quality goods. The reason Walmart has such low prices is because their clothes, electronics and house hold items are all made in China and not made to last. If you want to buy something that is high quality the last place to go is Walmart. But Walmart has done a brilliant job marketing crap to a consumer who doesn't really know what quality is, and also to a consumer that doesn't have the big bucks.

You are very right, I used to be head of security for a kmart in albany, new york and an old co-worker said recently they had a visit from some corporate bosses from way out in california and they made the choice to get rid of craftsman tools, diehard battery section and other brands in alot of Kmart stores on the east coast they say it is losing money. I think they made a mistake by buying them when kmart filed for chapter 11.

Electronics- Commission plus Hourly works, but Sears needs to focus on the big stuff, hold tight to brands like Samsung and Sony for TVs, Canon, Sony, and Kodak for Cameras, then phase out video games, phones, mp3 players, etc
Apparel- Have very strong brands for each market.. expand structure, dockers, model after Targets and JC Pennys clothing...

I work for Sears, in Electronics/Vacuums so I say tis
Appliances- GREAT! Commissioned associates have an aggressive drive to sell and its works!
Electronics- Commission plus Hourly works, but Sears needs to focus on the big stuff, hold tight to brands like Samsung and Sony for TVs, Canon, Sony, and Kodak for Cameras, then phase out video games, phones, mp3 players, etc
Apparel- Have very strong brands for each market.. expand structure, dockers, model after Targets and JC Pennys clothing...

I agree with what you said about Sears business model currently.
As others have said you have misspoken several times and even the graphics had spelling errors. Also, your coming accross as screechy.
