  • dave, why dont you have this anymore? when are you getting a new camera?

  • I love my nifty fifty lens, but I wouldn't have mind if Canon raised the price slightly so they could make it a better lens. If it had a better focus ring, 6 rounded aperture blades and a metal mount I would be much happier. I think this could be achieved without jacking the price too much higher.

  • Is it widescreen HD?

  • A 50mm prime lens is actually fantastic for photography. It will give you an extremely sharp image with fantastic boke

  • Man tough decision between this and the nikon d7000 and also considering the canon 7d while being over the top price range...... But i just do not like the swivel screen :(

  • you should buy sigma lenses (=

  • 50mm 1.8 is actually a really good lens and it's very impressive

  • nice you got the /50mm lens.

  • also - 4:24 that's actually a remove input socket, allows you to release the shutter with a press of the button on the remote. Essential for low light shooting with a tripod, less camera-shake.

  • 3:53 ouff.. did anyone else feel a little :O when he left the body facing upwards without the cap on? eeek.

  • Yeah, I was going to go for the 550D but then I thought the articulating screen would be much less awkard at weird angles.

  • The 50mm 1.8 is a great little lens but with the 1.6x crop factor its more like an 80mm lens.

  • the 50mm f/1.8 is not a bad lens for photography, although it's not what you'd call an "everyday" lens like the standard kit 18-55mm. I bought the 50mm one for my 500D to have alongside with the kit lens and It takes some good artistic shots in low light.

  • The 50mm f/1.8 is than the 18-55mm kit

  • Thumbs up if you clicked cancel.

  • jk

  • ah, a funny little trick to get more views, eh? [unsubscribe]

  • I think that the microphone jack is actually a controller jack...

  • @scotianbank Its a Cable Release

  • The 50mm f1.8 is something special. It's got an extremely wide aperture which many lenses don't have.

  • I've got the 550d and 50mm f1.8 and the photo quality is just stunning

  • love sayin' Dublin

  • New style and now a new camera. Your videos keep getting better.

  • 50mm is great for photography especially due to the f1.8 aperture for shallow depth of field effects :P

  • Thank you for making a video without jokes again... This is the Dave we know and love. The funny videos are ok, but it seems to me like you're just selling out with those personally. Make more videos like this, Dave, how you usually make them. It's nice to have humor, but too much takes away some of the respectful experience we normally get from you.

It's your videos, of course, so do whatever you want. But I implore you, keep the real Dave around.

  • Nifty Fifty is awesome ! Best tool I have

  • Dave, trust me that 50 will blow any zoom lens you get out of the water. that 1.8 aperture will do incredible in low light, and depth of field. Having said that, the 50mm MkII is a piece of junk as far as build quality. Just compare it to the 50mm MkI which is solid metal construction.

  • get the rode shotgun mic for it. I just got the same camera last week and i use the rode mic it works great.

  • sweet video Dave

  • that 50mm is awesome! haha Dave don't dis it, try figure out how to use it in low light :)

  • Aww i will miss the grainy iSight camera.

    I Kid.

  • i got the canon 60d in november. It really is a great camera. I was going to go for the T2i but i think the body on the canon 60d is a lot more durable and has more features :)

  • great video dave :D

  • You would want to get a wide 28mm lens cause with 50mm on a cropped sensor camera you will be zoomed in more especially if you're filming in your computer room

  • Good video dave

  • congrads on your new cam :)

  • Good!!! I was consider buying this.. Thx so much to introduce it to us

  • I'm thinking about getting this one myself. Will you do some tutorials on it for us rookies on your other channel????

    Thanks, Dave!

    Tim 

  • watch?v=hnzcFSOYw_s&feature=feedu

  • How come peepsmare using this camera instead of video camera...?

  • I have been thinking of getting this, but the 550D is much cheaper :/ I'm undecided!

    Review to come?

  • @ZeTutorials yep

  • @ZeTutorials My friend has it, spend the money it has so many handy things on the 550d like the extra wheel so you can do apture and f stop at the same thing with going into menus

  • @ZeTutorials This has a nicer more robust build quality and more options for the aperture and stuff than the 550. I'm torn between the 500D and D5000 (Nikon) at the moment, both are similar prices, but I'm more of a Canon guy, but Nikon tend to excel in a few areas Canon are weaker and vice versa. Wish I could get both haha.

  • @ZeTutorials i was gonna get the t2i/550d but rebels just arent fun to use, they are small, feel cheap, and sound cheap, i decided to go for the 60d because it has alot more features

  • thats is a killer cam. congrats. seems alot of youtubers are getting this camera due to the articulating screen and video quality.

  • Where did you get this in Dublin?

  • @JACKSMACS conns camera

  • Would you want to swap with my Nikon D3100? :P kidding dude

  • oh and Dave shoot in Raw when ya get a good lens for pics lol

  • awesome i bought mine of amazon.fr on sale. one awesome cam got 18-135mm kit

  • finally some good hd video on your chanel!

  • aww man you are a lucky friggin duck!!!! I want this camera so badly!!

  • Dude, can you tell me, this camera is made in which country ??

  • Why is the US plug so much smaller?

    -Someone from the States.

  • the 50mm lens just has low Depth of field so the background is really blurry which is really great for close up photo shots. The aperture which is f/1.8 is really really good, great for video and also great for photos.

a larger lens, e.g. the 55-250mm lens is about £50 more expensive than the 50mm lens and the aperture is f/4-5.6 which is not as good, the lower the number the better!

this is a great lens! and it is just 50mm, so doesn't zoom in any more or less than its 50mm focal length

  • lol thought you said 60 gig sd card....

  • Very nice camera indeed. Its quite funny over the past couple of months a few youtubers have bought this camera along with the 550d. Everyones going for canon! It would be nice to see a youtuber get something different like a nikon.

  • Can't wait to see future videos with this :D

  • Look who calmed down ;p

    ..

But seriously, we like Crazy-Dave, but keep the unboxing videos normal like you did with this one =).

  • How come you didn't go for the cheaper T2i?

  • That lens is very good for low light photography with the 1.8 Aperture

  • First!

The old camera is filming its replacement, sad

  • good thing you did not pitch the camera and lens aside like the rest of the stuff in the box :)

  • I'm very jealous! Saying that, my 450D is still doing strong and doing photography fine. I'm waiting for the 600D or 70D to upgrade to get video capabilities because I don't think I can justify an upgrade yet.

  • what is the cheapest price for this camara?

  • @franrasore without the lens about $800.

  • @LACK78 without the lense u have nothing lol

  • @LACK78 What about in euros? I'm considering buying the 60d sometime this summer.

  • @TheCompuGeeks its about €800.
