  • before watching video, i was think it may be hard job, after watching it how to change it, it's easy...

thanks for sharing and instruction on " How to change a headlight bulb "

  • Wow a girl that can put her hands inside an engine bay without screaming...I'm just simply amazed.Keep doing it baby!

  • I have a 72 Gremlin, what do I do?

  • @ZekeMahogany have a look at your owners manual if you have one - or simply do a google search - hope this helps?

  • Thank you, because of the video it was a piece of cake!

  • Lol, thank you, because of the video it was a piece of cake!

  • Lol, thank you, because of the video it was a piece of cake!!

  • Thanks for the video. This was the first time I changed my own bulb. Easy!!

  • thank you i will go and try it, the clip is giving me problem, halifords chrage £6.99 to replace one bulb

  • I think I've got it now, thanks. Nothing in the manual looked remotely like the actually headlight assembly.

  • it's weird that a girl's changing the bulb. women don't know about cars!

  • this is awesome, it doesnt take long and it saves you money

  • what does rubbing the bulb with alcohol do?? and is it necessary??

  • @illchayzz101 the alcohol removes any oil from touching the bulb with your fingers (sometimes its hard not to touch it) not really necessary, but oil from your skin can decrease the life of the bulbs - like anything, taking care does make things last longer... hope that helps

  • Great video! Watched and went out and did my headlights in 5 minutes. Amped to go out fixing headlights all of a sudden :-P

  • Thank u baby

  • I have a 08 Dodge Caliber. How the heck do I change a bulb on that bitch if and when the time comes??

  • @bitethedevil check out your 'owners manual handbook' should have details in there - hope this helps!

  • I am SO glad someone did a video like this. HELLO watch this video!!! Women know wtf they're doin with cars too!

  • thanks a lot for this video! I just changed my headlights and its the easiest thing in the world. lol

  • I lost the metal clip. Now what should I do?

  • @philanthropist69 if you can't find it, you'll have to get a replacement from a local auto store or wrecking yard - what a pain...

  • Thank you for posting this! Very helpful!

  • That shit was easy. Just fixed my own headlight.

  • thank you so much thiz helped nd nice hands lol

  • I want to the bulbs for my 95 Nissan Maxima, but the owner's manual says to disconnect the negative battery terminal before doing the other steps. No where else have I read this, but I wanna go with what the manual says. Is this a common practice?

  • @citylights07 sorry for the delay in replying, have been out helping with flood clean up here in Brisbane....

Yes, that is correct - some manuals recommend that you disconnect a battery terminal, simply so there is no chance of you getting zapped. It's up to you, if you disconnect it or not - better safe than sorry (not that it's going to really hurt or anything, but could cause possible wiring damage if something goes wrong)

  • Thanks for this video! I've been scared to change my headlight for a while now :( but with this it looks a lot easier then I had thought!

  • why do Americans have different cars to us in the uk ? like all your cars are horrible ..

  • @adamontour don't really know the answer to that one, it's a personal choice and manufaturers build cars to suit the market (plus a lot of cars are the same but just re-branded)

As we are in Australia (not the US, which I think the cars are pretty cool there), we have different cars again - the car in this video is a Toyota, which is Japanese...

    Hope this helps?

  • Honestly do over 130,000 people not know how to replace a headlight bulb ?

  • @WhatIThinke If not they hopefully do now - hopefully it has helped you too while viewing...

  • i have a crown vic 2003 and and the top where the back of the bulb seems to be covered..how do i reach the bulb?

  • @ether150 Hi, sorry not too familar with that model - have you had a look at your owners manual?" - if you don't have one just do a Google search and type in "crown vic 2003 owners manual" and you'll find heaps.

This is a good idea for anyone who has lost their manual (or don't have one) - there are pleanty of sites where you can download owner's manuals for free - just do a search

    Hope this helps

  • @panthervision1 no worries you're fine..i figured it out...lol just had to remove the radiator cover to access the headlight bulb....simple task though.

    thank you.

  • Very simple instruction. Loved it! Thanks for the video tutorial.

  • This is one of the most useful videos I have ever seen. It took you about 2 minutes to change the bulb in your video. When I followed your visual instructions it took me almost the same time (not counting the 2 minutes it took me to get the light bulb out of the package).

    Thank you very much.

  • @Jaynonymous1 Thanks for your kind feedback - in most cases auto bulbs can be changed simply and quickly - other times they can be a real pain in the butt...

  • Why do you wipe the bulb with an alcohol wipe? I thought that touching the bulb is was no no.

  • @junebug4ca You are right, touching the bulb with your fingers is a 'no-no' - the oils from your fingers can / will shorthen the life of the bulbs.

Using an alcohol wipe is just a precaution (incase you have touched the glass by accident) - I hope this info helps

  • Its so easy, a girl can do it !

  • This manual is ok unless you don't have a renault megane II, because then you will probably need to go to your dealer. Stupid design!

  • What software did you use to make this video?

  • @rawproductivity not sure? - a friend of mine put together the raw footage

  • Could you tell me how to change the lightbulbs for a 2008 mercury mountaineer?

  • @ChaldoPimpin15 Have a quick look in your owners manual - it should show you how to do this - if no help, ring your local dealership

  • Is this necessary?

  • @xdivisionx Hey thanks for your time to leave a comment! - is it necessary is a good question - probably not if you already know.

For those who don't know, hope the video helps

  • Great video - but any idea how to change the small 'side light' bulb on the Honda CRV 2002.

  • @Bladeus99 I done a quick search on Google and found an oline manual for this vehicle - procedure is:

    - (open bonnet) side bulb is located next to the headlight bulb.

    - Remove the bulb socket by turning counter clockwise (quarter turn)

    - Pull the bulb out of the socket and simply push the new one in

    - Insert socket back into headlight assembly, turn clockwise and lock into place

    - Test it

    - Close bonnet and you are away...

info available in your owners manual, search on Google

  • Must of been a Honda ????

  • @Greenmarine6 Toyota Camry

  • for some reason i always have problems with the headlights or the tail light...every couple of months is not normal......

  • @jsimon8585 could be an issue with your fuses (may be the wrong type) or the bulbs themselves (could be the wrong wattage) - always remember not to touch the tip of the bulb (glass bulb section) as this will shorten the life span

  • @panthervision1 wattage, whats that??

  • @jsimon8585 wattage is the power rating on the bulb - have a look in your vehicle handbook for the power rating eg; 12v55w (w= wattage), you'll need to make sure they are correct. Check fuses to also make sure they are the correct wattage. If in doubt, check with your local motor mechanic next time you have your vehicle serviced

  • when I removed the power connector, may be coz my car is 11years old, and it was so hard to take it off, I was thinking were I at the right track? will I break some component? then I drive to the "car ware" store, the stuff did the same way as you did. Just I should have be less gentle with the connector. ahhaha anyway, thanks!!

  • Brilliant video. So simple. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • @mishdogg

Thanks for your kind comments - we try our best to give people the best and easiest info to help

  • thanks. never changed one before. thought i had to remove the plastic cover from the front! lol

  • Thank you very much for this video! It saved me a lot of trouble!

  • one of the best videos on youtube.

  • Many thanks for your kind comment - I try to provide the best info I can

  • Thank you for that video! One of the headlights burned on my 2005 Mazda 3 and I was completely unable to replace it before looking at this video. Now if I can only figure out how to get to the left one it will be perfect! I might have to take some bits out but it should be fine. Thanks again!

  • thanks so much!! just changed mine in about 2 minutes, thanks to you. :) great vid ! 5*

  • anybody know about Pontiac Grand Am,

i just bought a bulb, but i didn't know how to install

  • thanks great vid

    5*****

  • I like the bit "undo the clip". Maybe add a full day of frustration trying to undo a clip with no accessibility, and a $70 bill later, for added realism. What is wrong with the good old screw? --- IT EVEN WORKS!

  • Thanks for your comment - I totally agree with you.

At the end of the video does explains this is just a 'genaral guide' . But as everyone can appreciate that not every vehicle is the same...

The part about 'undo the clip' in this particular vehicle (and most) was simply a matter of pushing in a spring load clip and flicking down to release (takes around 2 seconds).

Accessibility can certainly be an issue in some vehicles and if you are not confident, it is better left to the experts.

  • So simple, thank you very much for making this video. I was really struggling with replacing the bulb on my motorcycle, this video explained it just right. :)

  • man my coolant reservoir is blocking me from getting to my bulb. any idea on how to get around this. i tried using a mirror to guide my hands, but its to cramped, and my hands are big lol.

  • Had the same prob with a car - easiest way was to remove coolant reservoir to get to the bulbs...

pain in the butt - changing the light bulbs is the easy and quickest part.

    Hope this helps?

  • thanks for the quick reply. i just decided to get try and manuever the old light bulb, clip, and plug out blindly, and put the new lightbulb, clip, and plug back in blindly lol. it worked, even though i got some scraped up fingers in the process. :)

  • dammit i wish it was that simple with my chevy s10 :( cause my light burned out and you can even reach the back of the light because theres a lot of stuff squished in there blocking it

  • soo simple thnx...

wat if i have a little trouble taking the rubber off??

  • If you have a bit of trouble with removing the rubber - you can use a screwdriver to lever the edges (very carefully) - hope this helps

  • What if there's only 2 1/2 inches between the back of the headlights and the frame near the radiator? How do I get them out then?

  • Good question - would first go to your owners manual and find out the procedure, light may need to be removed from front by taking out headlight assembley?

If not, yes 2 1/2 inches is not much room - but can be removed within that space - only not very good hand movement. When this much space is available I tend to find more time is spent swearing than removing the bulb. But it is do-able....

    Hope this helps?

  • Thanks!

  • Thank You
