@Adefesio94 wow really? I always felt they sounded more punk than metal in my opinion. Songs like "School", "Breed", and "Territorial Pissings" just reflect their love of punk rock. Kurt did like Black Sabbath and The Melvins but he also had a taste for The Ramones, Sonic Youth, and Black Flag. Still I guess it's cool to say they have a metal sound to them as well.

For an example if you say to someone you listen to Nirvana - they start talking about Smells Like Teen Spirit (or don't know who they are) - and all I feel like saying is "YOU KNOW THERE ARE OTHER GREAT NIRVANA SONGS TOO!". Smells Like Teen Spirit is great, in fact it was my first Nirvana song I listened too, but its becoming a bit "commercial.."

The first recording (Out I) was the one that later appeared on the With The Lights Out box set, and is probably the one you're used to.

i think in bleach they kinda just went into a studio and were allowed to pretty much do it all themselves. but with nevermind the people there just cleaned it up so much and didnt really give the band the sound they wanted. but with in utero kurt said that steve albini really hit the sound they wanted on the head and so it was their favourite album. but bleach is still my favourite album.
