  • LEVEL ASIAN: HIGH GRADE- 1 YR..

  • haha ! EZ 8 was the best !

  • pg 12 hours lol i mean seriously i even painted the inner frames

  • it says mobile suit gundam, not gundam wing, i mean there was alot of gundam wing shown because it was more popular back in the days, i mean the black man built a ez8, that is not from gundam wing.

  • Level 5 Gundam Shenlong, Epyon, and Wing Zero 2 hours. Level 5 Deathscythe 2 1/2 hours.

  • @SirMac27 Lvl 5 tallgeese 3 2 hours, Lvl 4 Zero model: 45 mins =w=b

  • Is the second number how long it takes them? I can build a MG within five hours.

  • This is what got me into building Gunpla. I meant to do just the Deathscythe H. Custom, but I've built more than a dozen kits since then.

  • Lol this is back when people took time to do the details on their toys/models now its all about online games and stuff

  • Did it really take that long? ahah. I went through mine fairly quick. aaaah. Nostalgic feeling when I watched this.

  • its a good commercial! anyone see the Ez-8 among the gundam wing kits?

  • I remember seeing this commercial when I was a kid. At first I didn't think much of it but now my friend introduced me to building gundams and I built one in 3 or 4 hours I think on my first one. It was the 1/144 strike noir gundam. Now i'm currently doing a custom paint job on a mobile Cgue.

  • The girl's pretty cute~

  • I built the Perfect Grade Red Frame in 10 hours

  • I could easily build all those gundams in just 1 hour each... It's true I can build a gundam that fast i've done it before.

  • i like how it took her three days to build a high grade epyon lol

  • Gundam Wing Level 1 .. "1 HOUR" !!!! bahahahaaaaaaaaa

  • @jettcenterfold well if you paint it well and do every single detail, then it's 1 hour. also they painted in and panelined it too, so yeah. once i did that, clean the parts carefully and panelined them, it took me 5 minutes or more

  • 0:13 wonder why EZ8 is in there? ALTERNATE UNIVERSE INVASION

  • @StrikeFreedom986 It's probably more like Ban Dai America dosen't have a clue. We were all new to Gundam back then and we didn't know much about the alternate series apart from Gundam Wing.

  • i had all the wing zero gundams for this. to bad i lost most of the piece play with them after i build them lol

  • 17hrs to make a highgrade. LOL

  • i remember those commercials, I thought this so cool back in the day... awww the 90's

  • damn dog ate my gundams 12 years ago, only one survived:(

  • condom = sex all night.

  • I threw up when I saw this commercial! They put Epyon's power coupling on the antenna, and claimed that a 1/100 HG model (yes model with an "e") would take 17 hours to build! I could eat the sprues and shit out a complete gundam faster than that--not to mention that I would have all the parts in the right place. And one more thing; gunpla is cool and all, but it's not badass like they try to make it. ;)

  • @kojiq3 they probably took painting time into account

  • @narutoman876 no. pretty much if you spend 17 hours on Gunpla that isn't MasterGrade or better, you should kill yourself

  • @kojiq3 I'm pretty sure that some people take that long building the HGUC dendribium or HGUC Sinanju

  • @narutoman876 0rly? that's not what they were hinting in the commercial. I built a Perfect Grade, wired, and painted it in well under 10 hours--of course not in one sitting =p

  • Did I heard that the only girl in the ad made a Gundam in THREE DAYS ?

Is that sexist or did she just make a fuckin' awesome model ?

  • @KatsuhonoProduction *just made

  • lol I love how they say near endless articulation yet those things (specifically the 1/144's) were practically bricks back then XD

  • @GundamLegacyExtreme LOL!!!!!!!!!!! if you didn;t point it out i wouldn't have known about it!

  • @chiosin

    lol that's my job XD

  • @GundamLegacyExtreme ahaha endless articulation my ass... my g Gundam 1/144 kits wont even make a Fighting poses LoL

  • @chiosin

lol MY G Gundam 1/144 can strike practically any fighting pose I wa-... oh wait... you mean the No Grade XD

  • @GundamLegacyExtreme I know i brought a gundam f91 1/100 scale heavygun and g cannon let me tell you not pretty the limbs on both models keep falling of the weapons wouldnt stay in the hands.

  • @BlackAce1229

This is why I tend to avoid the older kits... sure you have to respect them... but I don't really like the fact that all they can do Is just stand there and NOT look pretty... only 2-3 colors of plastic and you need to paint your ass off to make'em look good... I suck at painting so I don't want to deal with them.

  • You should've seen the UK adverts for Gundam Wing products. They were so shit even the kid actors looked depressed.

  • HOLY CRAP I REMEMBER THIS!!

  • 0:22

Dad: "Great, my son's gonna grow up a weeaboo. >:("

  • lvl 9000 over 9000 hour

  • Even a novice modeller can do it in less than 1 hour.

  • @nightslash3535 yeah, a novice can put together a crappy looking thing in less than an hour. However, if you want a GOOD looking model it'll take much longer(even panel lining seriously increases the time needed to build a model)

  • @kakarot197 I never mentioned painting it, it's a different story. I'm talking about the building process.

  • ahahaha way too slow!

  • hahah ....

  • when i was six i did a level 4 and 5 in 1 hour each in the same day. this commercial make it seem it was hard to build gundams, it's not that hard.

  • not to sound dum but when they make different levels of Gundam what does that mean exactly? by the way at 11:00 was that unicorn Gundam?

  • @shawtycrusito The video wasn't that long =P but I'm assuming you mean the white Mobile Suit?

That would the the RX-79 Ez8. It's not even from Gundam Wing xD.

  • @shawtycrusito It means the way of building them is more complex and the longer it should take...although the commercial greatly exaggerates how long it actually took to build one.

  • o.e

I want one...but my attention span won't let me!

  • dami remember this comercai llike when i was in 2nd grade hahahaha im in 10th now

  • i wonder how long it will take the people in this commercial to build a five star stories model kit.

  • wow the dude in 0:16 did a Level 3 scale in 2 hours,i just do Level 2 in 2 hours

but hey with this things you need time for it and not rush (cant wait saturday for my Force Impulse :P)

  • the only reason why these damn things took so long is the pucking paint and using a thin pain marker for the little details

  • stupid question: what model kits were this?

  • @127crispy Mobile Suit Gundam model kits! haha

  • Such fond memories of buying these kits and thinking I was a badass for completing a level 5... I didn't even trim the nub marks... Still badass though!

  • That commercial birngs me back some good memory i miss those days

  • this commercial brings back memory

  • i dont get it...

i played it back and fort i really

    dont get the idea about

    the level part...

actually the whole thing is the level part

    i dont get it all

  • @deathc0rR3 LOL every model has a level of difficulty, level 1 will have let say 350 parts but level 4 will have 1000 parts.

  • @imfromnebula oh.... so thats it... thank you i really appreciate it

  • @deathc0rR3 level 1= no grade level 2= high grade level 3 =master grade level 4= perfect grade

  • @BlackAce1229 Actually, it was level 1=First Grade, speed grade or no grade, levels 2-5= High Grade, levels 6-9= Master Grade, levels 9 and 10= Perfect Grade.

  • Level 5 Gundam. 12 Hours.

  • hella nostalgia lmfao i had the deatscythe hell

  • Great times.

  • Great times.

  • sounds like a army recrutment commercial the way that guy is talking

  • OMG i remeber this commercial!!!!

  • Anyone know what the last Gundam is?

  • Gundam Nataku, upgraded version of shenlong..

  • @BMPlovesFF7 It's Gundam Nataku, from Endless Waltz.

  • i really want a gundam then i remembered this commercial from like 2005 or earlier

  • i think i can remember seeing it from 2003. but i really want a gundam too but he good models are expensive

  • i used to get so stoked wen this commercial came on

i would always buy gundams wenever i saw them at target, walmart, or kmart

but i always ended up breaking em somehow

  • @monkeybeast69 i miss those days now the only way to get models is online.

  • I have to order these guys online still. They stopped carrying them RIGHT when I got into them... Its a mega pain when all the instructions are in japanese! But they're cheaper that way it seems ;P

  • you dont need to read them you just look at the ;pictures

  • I Still build Gundams today, But Fuck Gundam Items are Scarce in the U.S now....

  • Hobby Link Japan is your friend. ;)

  • Yes they are For all your Mecha Needs :)

  • There total badazzes.

This is how we build gundams.... in AMERICA!!!

  • @ZeonicFreak hahahahaha there you go! *salute*

  • I think the reason some of those models took so long is because the people building them were rookies. Right now, I can build a 1/144 HG in about 5-6 hours, and with detailing, about another 3 or 4 tops. Main reason is because I like my models to be blemish free.

  • Man I remember this, its awesome

  • lvl5 3-5 days =P

  • I don't understand the "level" thing. I thought there were only different grades? sg, mg, pg, ect?

  • Back on the early 00's, Bandai Entertainment released domestic versions of these models, similar to the way they release anime here. These domestic kits were the same as the Japanese versions, but in addition to the grading system, Bandai printed a 10-point difficulty scale on the boxes, making kit complexity clear for American modelers. Bandai stopped distributing the kits in 2004, and as a result, American retailers now import kits directly from Japan, and the level system is no longer used.

  • not even that, no MGs or PGs released officially, which means these idiots really suck at making

  • Perfect Grade...... a week

  • fuck! your fast!

  • Actually it took me only 4 days to complete PG wing zero

  • Your faster than I though!

  • thats because i've has experience with these from first grade to PG I mastered these

  • I was always freaked out by the Indian kid's dad just sitting on the couch staring into space with the little indian lamp gimmick hanging above.

  • now that i think about it it takes me 3 days to build a HG

  • damn they must either suck at making them or have something they do cause that many fucking hours,3 days for a level 3?i hope that wasn't nonstop lol

  • no They mean building and detailing took 3 hours

  • level 5 2hours and 30mins GM and GM command universal century High Grade.

  • lol, i compleet lvl 5 in 6hrs of non stop work. i win!

  • *remembers this commercial airing on CN way back when Gundam Wing aired* Nostalgia rush...lol

  • 17 hours WTF!

  • this commercial reminds me of graffiti for some reason :P

  • these were the good ole days.... now u cant find gundams anywere!!!

  • That's because unlike years ago, anime isn't as broad as it use to be. Choose to disbelieve me on this if you want, but it may have to do with whether anime franchises and their merchandises can grab a big enough audience in America.

I read a something on Anime Insider magazine where a fan asked an editor why there aren't Gundam00 model kits in the U.S. The editor said how the Gundam franchise in America hasn't grabbed as much attention as it use to in the 90s.

  • yea lik i would go to places and there would be modle kits everywhere like at target they had a whole gundam isle.

  • For the life of me, I can't understand why I never bought any of those model kits myself at the time. I guess it's the fact that while I liked watching Gundam Wing, I've never been enough of a fanatic to get engaged into any of the merchandises.

Thinking back to it now, I probably should've bought some of the models when I had the chance, even if I wasn't engaged in the whole Gundam plot.

  • you can still get them, just not under the North American namesake (boxes & whatnot) wide variety in scale, price, series, etc

  • gundam 00 is pretty good :D

  • You can still get them here theres a japanese store called hello cutie here in america but the kits are expensive.

  • yeah i really loved those days

  • Walmart and Toys R US.

  • They stopped carrying those like 4+ years ago man...

  • i remember this!!! i always wanted one

  • When I was younger, I thought this commercial was the bomb! Really made modeling hip with the mainstream crowd.

  • i used to looooove this commercial

&& then get mad cuz my dad wouldnt buy me one lol

    ahh...memories =]]

  • He looks like he is about to hang himself at :03

  • 0:14

LOL They sneaked in the Ez8 from 08th MS team.

  • First off the guy below me type better and what the hell is a level 5 I go by grades.

  • maybe the levels r grades.idk.

  • back then around the time this commercial came out, HG's were popular and the creators of the kits and even the publishers had them at different "LEVELS" 1,2,3,4,5. supposibly if you can do level 5 like nothing, then the rest are too easy. the popularity went down and the MG's and PG's were rising from the ashes.

  • ha ha you sound like my history book

  • ok.

  • lol just cuz u put allot of facts in ur comment

  • i think this was made to make gundam blow up america. like say these things r hard to build etc. i know americans that can build a gundam fast etc. sum ppl tke time. its not a race. cnt all b the same.its lyk thy made the commercial seem like the show, kinda, like as if thy were actually real n moveable, idk. thts wat i think. i dnt c n e thng wrng with ths commercial.

  • Why is that guy showing off that he built a "level 5" in 10 hours thats pathetic. Ive lived in japan for four years collecing much higher quality models and that just offends me..

  • i never did a lv5 was it like a MG?

  • hell no, this commercial was cool back when everyone thought wing was badass, now its garbage and these guys look like total dumbasses who cant put together one of those HG basic models in less than an hour, all those in the pictures didnt take more than an hour or so if you were halfass decent.

  • dude a level five isen't even as good as hguc

  • thats fucked up, cuz a hguc models are really good and are only 1/144

  • well there were HG in the 1/100 line in Wing gundam and G gundam

  • they should do this same commercial bt with the gundam 00 kits, see how fast people build them now.

  • lvl 5 10 hours XD, lvl 5 is a really old skill, I think only the old gundam resin kits had lvl 5 or something like that. A lvl 4 already takes weeks XD

  • ah, i remember this ad... made me want to buy even MORE gundams lol... always kept on breaking them after i made them :(

  • mines the RX 178 gundam mark II :)

  • lmao 10 hours level 5 EPIC FAIL

  • how is that epic fail?

    i dont understand D:

    explain to me please!

  • these models are fucking easy to build thats why. itd be understandable if maybe those were PERFECT GRADE or some master grade ones for 10 fucking hours including snipping off all the nubs from the sprues and painting and detailing and stuff.

  • exactly this is an excuse... they should have never given model kits to america they should have just sticked to action figures for kids...

  • thats a pretty ignorant thing to say, might as well have not given america vehicle model kits as well and make people stick with hot wheel cars too huh? its pretty much the exact same thing your saying

  • yea I guess your right but still... thats offensive (this commercial)

  • yeah it is.

  • the polycaps on these MSGW kits were shit

  • I had a Wing Zero Custom. Don't remember what level. I just remember the wings and guns were so heavy, that it never stood straight.

  • If I could help them, I could.

  • I build way faster than these fuckers. I would finish a master Grade level 8 in just 3 and a half hours. the truth. but I kinda feel bad since that it's not that they build slow, It's just that they get frusterated with the instructions.

  • The commercial is laughable, but some people tend to take more time when they build kits. Gently shaving and sanding away the sprue nubs, filling in seam lines, priming, painting, etc.

It's the extra steps that separate 'snappers' from modelers.

  • thanks for understanding.

  • This brings back memories!!!

  • 1 day for just a friggin 1/100?

Man they really over exaggerated the time it takes to make these. It only takes me around 2-5 hours on a normal high grade.

  • lol it takes me 2 1/2 days to build a ng seed 1/100 scale model....lol its cuz i play games work paintball n other things....

  • I hate this ad.I have to watch it everytime I want to want to watch Gundam Wing because its on the DVDs!
