Sadly this will never happen... as the cooling rock shrinks and compresses all water out of it. It will be more like Ganymede or another ice moon then. Would be extremely cool though (sorry that wasn't quiet so funny). Do like the music, what is it?
thx and I hope some geologists will join the debate and tell me that this cannot happen. I've tried to find out if Geology has dealt with this topic but so far the only indication I could find was a statement which said that when the Earth's core cools down the Earth is going to be a cold place. They didn't say what they mean by that but I suppose it leaves room for my theory
Die Erde ist schon oft binnen eines sehr kurzen Zeitraumes (5-10 Jahre) abgekühlt und fast die ganze Nordhalbkugel war vereist. Grund: Stopp der Klimapumpe der Erde, auch genannt Golfstrom. Die Lebensbedingungen werden sich dramatisch verändern, weil alles gefroren ist, aber sollte das keine Gefahr für die Erde selbst darstellen. Das Klima ändert sich seit Anbeginn der Erde und Eiszeiten wechseln sich mit Hitzeperioden ab. Das ist ganz normal. Derzeit läuft wieder ein rasanter Abkühlprozess ab.
