The media build us up every year as a means of selling papers/getting viewers in the biggest market and to be honest id say the hype they create around the team is a major factor in why we underperform when really put to the test. 1. I buy Hill tickets for the atmosphere there, not cos im "too tight". When playing Dublin, plenty of opposing fans choose the Hill also for the atmosphere and banter. 2. Didnt give up on us in that match till a little after half time. 3. "Then pick on Gardai?" Wrong match there. Check the date on the video and you will realise your a few years out.

Also, of the 32 counties, Meath fans threw a hot cup of tea at a player, the first and only soccer styled firm to be started in GAA was in Mayo. Take that chip off your shoulder and eat it.

The media build us up every year as a means of selling papers/getting viewers in the biggest market and to be honest id say the hype they create around the team is a major factor in why we underperform when really put to the test. Ask most Dubs fans tho and i guarentee you they would not think were even close this year again.

Dublin in a few recent years "Could" have been in contention if a few things were put right, mental strength mainly but it wasnt. I think again this year most Dubs know well we arent in the running to win the AI. Tyrone are hyped up but only when there is reason to hype them. The media tends to make too much out of Dublin wins and tout us as possible AI winners after victories over weak teams. 2002 we were good enough i think but not since then

thats dublins problem i think, for tyrone - in ulster we have tougher games, we drew armagh in the 1st round and even though they arnt wat they were, they r atill a tough team to play. ino its a biased view but i think tyrone will win again - they havnt really had to hit top gear yet and have swept armagh and derry aside. i think Dublin didnt have a bad chance 2 r 3 years ago.

The Dubs also barely lost out to Wexford in the championship, by one point if memory serves due to a late free which puts them close to number 2 in Leinster. Also, name a few teams that sell out croker every time. Harder to have matches delayed often if only a few thousand bother going to the game. population also tho. For example, if you look at most league games we play away from home, there tends to be a bigger crowd from Dublin than the home team. Obviously im not talking about places like Cork, Galway, Limerick, Tyrone but many others the population difference is so great that its only natural we would have more of an attendance.

Croke park decide to delay the match because there is only 1 small road into the Hill and it always causes delays when sold out. A GAA fan would know that! Ok, i was in the hill that day. There were loads of groups of Meath fans but only one had problems. That group spent the entire first half with their backs to the game hurling abuse at the people behind them, then as they left, they were giving the fingers to the hill. After they left there were hundreds more meath fans there but no trouble at all. So it wasnt just for being on the hill, they were causing trouble themselves.
