I dont get this!! The root note (where the chord name comes from) should be in the bass note right? But here all the roots are in the highest note!!

the first and sixth strings are the same note. low e to high e.

You've got a fan, good lesson..especially helpful on how the patterns are recognized across the fret board. I think folks early on are intimated by any chords that are out of the 1st position and they do not realize how the guitar chord system simply transfers up and down the neck, this helps folks realize that you can pick a chord formation and the chord itself will change to another with a simple move up the fret board.

I think most here would be helped by learning about the "CAGED" theory

Great lessons mate, but I'm a little confused: for example the CEG major triad makes up the Cmajor chord, each note repeating once. So why do we have to learn the 1st inversion tirads if they are the same notes?

These are fantastic lessons and the visual aspect has made me realize how the root inversions and the 1st inversions can intertwine....I have been practicing more than ever!! Is there a way for you to present your ideas on shifting from one mode to another...let's say dorian to mixolydian without focusing on just the root note?

If you're in say, the key of C, then Dorian and Mixolydian would still use the C major scale. D dorian and G mixolydian are just the C major scale.
