Did anyone notice that Richard's shirt changed colors? When he was first turned into an illustration, he had a red shirt, and when they got out of the Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde mansion he's wearing a green shirt, and he's still in a green shirt when they get up to the pirate ship, but when he's thrown into the ship along with Adventure he's back in the red shirt.

I don't think that'sanything to do with the animation, except for "lighting" changes due to different surroundings. In Horror and the first half of Adventure, the lighting in green, hence a green shirt.

Huh? I don't get that. What do you mean? Richard came to the library wearing a red shirt, and is wearing the red shirt when he's turned into an illustration. The shirt is red all through Horror until you get out of the Jekyll and Hyde mansion, where it turns green. The pirates take Richard and Adventure to the ship and throw them into it. When they're flying through the air, the shirt's green, but when Richard falls into the boat, the shirt's back to red, and doesn't change again.

The animator must have made a mistake. He probably forgot that the shirt was red and made it green before realizing his mistake. He probably didn't fix it right then because it'd take a long time to fix and they had a deadline. Knowing that he'd have to change the shirt back to red sometime he waited until Richard was thrown into the ship to change it so that the mistake wouldn't be too obvious and so that the mistake would go unnoticed at first as people pay more attention to what is happening.

Like when Captain Ahab spots Moby Dick and he changes from greenish blue to black and red. That's an animated lighting change. If Richard was in a place where everything was green or blue, it would make sense to draw him with a green or blue shirt.
