Those thinking this gameover screen is too no-sense or too violent, I think you've never been on REAL arcade. At the 90s "clients" from arcades were real thugs man, the real shit, at least here in south america. So seeing a screen like this was part of the fun! CAPCOM knew profile of their public, and that is why we have those continue screens on Final Fight, Predator, the blowed faces of looser on street fighters and etc...this was done with the real in mind.

This once scared me when I was a kid

the thing is, i always liked the "harsh" continue/game over screens that Capcom had. it illustrated a rather important point that was somewhat lacking in a lot of earlier games: if you, the hero, failed to get back up and continue fighting, then you died. the bad guy won. which in retrospect made me wanna continue. i didn't want to see my hero die. in alot of games back then, if you didn't continue, you were just "defeated," but in these ones, you were DEAD. No going back. that's awesome.
