I am a proud owner of TAMA Starclassic Elite bubinga drums , with Masai Warlord bubinga snare , and that is the most beautifull sounding and looking drumset I ever play !
I like Tama drums, and was cosidering them for a while. But Ive decided that Ludwig is my way to go. They arent over-marketed, over-priced, or overrated. Plus they are the classic drums. What company can beat that?
Tama or yamaha. Pearl spends more money marketing their drums rather than developing them, buy for sound not for name. DW is overrated, too expensive and similarly over marketed, i've heard many stories of careless manufacturing from both these brands.
Tama and yamaha drums sound amazing for starters. The shell material, composition and technology is superior and they are sturdy for touring drummers.
Yeah, I have a co-worker at Starbucks telling me he really wants a DW kit and I just shake my head at that. Waste of money! I'd go with Yamaha, Tama, and even some of the Gretsch Catalina kits. I've never understood the big deal with DW's. They do have great hardware and I love their bass drum pedals.
OH MY GOSH I WOULD BANG ON THAT DRUMSET! -no pun intended-

I really love the Tama make of drums. Bubinga kicks ass. There is no wood which sounds quite like it. Keep up the good work Tama.
